CM Chouhan dedicates water treatment plant at Manuabhan Tekri

3.5 lakh population of Bhopal will get clean drinking water 
 
Bhopal 26 August  2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan dedicated the water treatment plant constructed under AMRUT Project at Manuabhan Tekri in Bhopal. Bhopal Municipal Corporation has got this 50 MLD capacity plant constructed to ensure water supply to different areas of the city from the Upper Lake through high level tanks. This plant will provide pure and regular drinking water to about 3.5 lakh population. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the goal of the state government is to provide clean drinking water to every household. Lambakheda, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Bhanpura, Govindpura, Narela, Huzur and many other areas of Berasia will avail the benefits of the new plant. Chief Minister Chouhan congratulated the citizens for this gift to the capital city Bhopal. He also instructed the officers to run the plant smoothly. Chief Minister Chouhan besides dedicating the water treatment plant also jointly dedicated intake well and 23 high level tanks constructed at different places.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh, Protem Speaker Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Rameshwar Sharma, MLA Smt. Krishna Gaur, Former Mayor Alok Sharma, Surjit Singh Chouhan, Commissioner Bhopal Kavindra Kiyawat, Inspector General of Police Upendra Jain, Collector Bhopal Avinash Lavania and other public representatives were present on the occasion.

Manuabhan Water Treatment Plant: At a Glance

The cost of Manuabhan Water Treatment Plant is Rs 13.90 crore. The cost of setting up Karbala intake wells and Pump House is Rs 5.30 crore, cost of laying Raw Water Rising Main is Rs 12.10 crore, cost of construction of five high level tanks is Rs 7 crore, cost of laying water distribution pipelines and feeder main is Rs 28.50 crore. As of now 5630 meter pipes of 8 ml diameter have been used up to the pump house water treatment plant. Feeder lines of 300 to 800 meter diameter have been laid to fill various tanks.

Tree plantation on Manuabhan Tekri

Chief Minister Chouhan planted a Kachnar sapling on the occasion. Other guests also planted saplings. Commissioner Bhopal informed that plants of various species are being planted on this hill.

Bharatmata Temple Project

On this occasion, the municipal authorities apprised Chief Minister Chouhan of the Bharat Mata Mandir project to be built in the Tekri campus. Along with the installation of the statue of Bharat Mata here, there are plans to display pictures and statues of freedom fighters – Window to News
