CM Chouhan reviews preparations for Birsa Munda Jayanti
Bhopal 06 November 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the works accomplished for the society and the nation by Birsa Munda including other tribal heroes should be brought into light before the society, so that we can take inspiration from their accomplishments. Special attention should be paid to the education, health and employment of the tribal community for its comprehensive development and schemes should be implemented accordingly.
Chief Minister Chouhan informed that the birth anniversary of Jannayak Birsa Munda will be celebrated every year as “Tribal Pride Day”. This year the main event will be held at his birth place Karkeli, Umaria district. Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the preparations in Mantralaya for the programmes to be organized across the state on the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Shivshekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary Pallavi Jain Govil, Commissioner Public Relations Sudam Khade were present in the meeting.
Contribution should be publicized
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the extensive contribution made in nation-building by great tribal personalities of the state such as Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Tantya Mama, Rani Durgavati, Bhima Nayak, Raghunath Mandloi, Raghunath Shah, Shankarshah etc. should be widely publicized.
Various events should be organized
Chief Minister Chouhan said that webinars should be organized by universities on Pride Day. Garlands should be offered on the idols of tribal great personalities and festivities must be organized in the memorial buildings.
