Sultania Hospital will shift to Gandhi Medical College campus: Minister Sarang

Instructions to plan 300 beds while increasing the current capacity 
 
 
Bhopal 02 December 2020: DMedical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang inspected Gandhi Medical College and Hamidia Hospital and instructed to shift Sultania Lady Hospital to Gandhi Medical College campus. He said that this will be a major achievement for Bhopal. Shifting the hospital will facilitate care of the mother-child at the same place. He instructed to get the work completed within in six months by issuing guidelines to the concerned in this connection. He instructed to plan the expansion of the existing bed capacity in Sultania Hospital from 180 beds to 300 beds.

During the inspection, Minister Sarang expressed his displeasure at the mismanagement in the Casualty Registration Counter. He instructed to ensure smooth operation of the system and also instructed to give show-cause notice to the Superintendent. He took stock of the OPD arrangements and held discussions with the doctors. Meanwhile, he also inquired about the smooth functioning of the equipments.
Minister Sarang also viewed the new girls hostel and instructed to increase the number of bathrooms in the hostel as per capacity. He also asked to ensure allotment of rooms in hostels according to merit.

Sarang viewed the Corona vaccine trial wing. He inspected the registration counter, waiting area, O.P.D. and screening area, counseling room, record room, vaccine store and data entry room. He said that vaccine trial will be started soon in G.M.C for which necessary preparations have been done. People have to be made aware of the vaccine. Covid has been treated free of cost in Madhya Pradesh, due to which Madhya Pradesh has reached an ideal situation today.

Minister Vishwas Sarang also inspected the college library and gave instructions to increase the library timings. He viewed the sports complex and issued instructions for its renovation – Window to News
