Former Congress MLA Parulekar sentenced to one year jail term in defamation case

Bhopal: Kalpana Parulekar, former Congress MLA has been sentenced one year jail in a defamation case filed against her by former Principal Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Bhagwan Dev Israni.
After getting jail term, Kalpana Parulekar secured the bail and said she will appeal against the order in session’s court.
The court of First Class Magistrate Sandhya Shrivastavav handed over one year jail term to Kalpana Parulekar and also imposed fine of Rs 2000 on her. This verdict came in a defamation case filed against her by former Principal Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Assembly Bhagwan Dev Israni.
Kalpana Parulekar’s advocate Jitendra Soni told the media that Kalpana Parulekar will appeal against the court order in session’s court. He informed that Kalpana Parulekar had challenged the appointment of Bhagwan Dev Israni and latter had also accepted that he joined service in the age of seventeen years and eleven months. Parulekar had also leveled many other allegations against him.
Few years ago, Kalpana Parulekar had leveled barrage of charges in a press conference against then Principal Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Bhagwan Dev Israni.
She accused him of indulging in corrupt practices and also said he was minor when he came in service. Taking umbrage on the allegations, Bhagwan Dev Israni had filed defamation suit against Kalpana Parulekar. Kalpana Parulekar has secured the bail after the court order and now she is planning to go in appeal in session’s court.
