Chief Minister Chouhan reviews Khandwa Water Supply Scheme
Bhopal 03 March 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked to enhance water supply capacity of the Khandwa city’s water supply scheme removing dearths immediately. The citizens of Khandwa city should get drinking water conveniently during the ensuring summer season.
The Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the Khandwa Water Supply Scheme at his official residence. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Urban Administration and Development Nitesh Vyas, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Manish Rastogi, Secretary to Chief Minister M. Selvendran and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that all the under construction water supply schemes of the state should be completed within the stipulated time. The quality of construction work should be of high standard. Chief Minister Chouhan directed to complete construction and repair works related to drinking water supply on a war footing and also to complete sewage project works on priority.
It was informed in the meeting that in Khandwa city there is a demand of 37.35 M.L.D. water in the year 2021, which will be 47.65 M.L.D. in the year 2036 and 59.55 M.L.D. in 2051. At present, there is an availability of 25 to 28 M.L.D. from Narmada Water Supply Scheme, 5 M.L.D. from Sukta Water Supply Scheme, 2 M.L.D. from ground water sources, thus a total of 30 to 35 M.L.D. water is available for the city.
