Bhopal 08 March 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that this is not ritual to be conducted on International Women’s Day. Upliftment of women is the mission of my life. Chief Minister Chouhan stated this in the programme “Nari Tu Narayani” organized on women empowerment at Lal Parade Ground, Bhopal on International Women’s Day today. He said that there is no work in the world that women cannot do. The Chief Minister today announced uncountable gifts for women, especially women self-help groups. The Chief Minister greeted all the women with folded hands. Tribal Affairs Department Minister Sushri Meena Singh, Culture and Tourism Minister Sushri Usha Thakur and Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare (Independent Charge) Ramkhelavan Patel were also present.
Self-help groups will get loans at 2
percent interest instead of 4
Chief Minister Chouhan said that today Rs 200 crore has been deposited into the accounts of self-help groups. Now Rs 150 crore will be deposited in their accounts every month. Praising the self-help groups he said that the groups repay every single rupee of loan to the banks. Now self-help groups will be given loans at 2 percent interest instead of 4 percent interest, the rest will be borne by the government.

The Chief Minister said that efforts will be made to enhance the dignity of women in the state. Umang programme will be conducted for children of Class IX, X and XI. In this, boys will be taught values of giving respect to girls. Men will be motivated to change their mindset. Chief Minister Chouhan said that there are 38 lakh Ladli Laxmis in the state today. The government will pay the fees for their higher education in IITs, IIMs, medical and engineering fields both within the country and abroad. Nari Samman Kosh will be set up at a cost of Rs 100 crore. Career counseling will be conducted for the girl students.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that it will be necessary to add the name of the wife along with the husband in land registration. He said that on purchase of new property in the name of sister, mother, daughter and wife, two percent exemption will be given in registration. Both husband and wife will be named in the housing schemes. The key will be given jointly.
Contractual women employees will be entitled to 180 days of maternity leave
A separate women’s help desk will be opened in all the district hospitals and hospitals affiliated to medical colleges of the state. Contractual women employees will also be entitled to 180 days of maternity leave. Women beneficiaries of Sambal Yojana will be given Rs 4 thousand before delivery and Rs 12 thousand post delivery that is total Rs 16 thousand so as to ensure good health of both mother and the newborn. Chouhan said that an amount of Rs 2 lakh will be awarded for the development of such villages, where the number of sons and daughters remains equal for three consecutive years. Women police stations will be opened in all districts. As many as 1600 health centers of the state will be modernized. Maternity facilities will be expanded. Temporary women sanitation workers working in urban bodies will also get one day off in a week.
Tap water to reach every house in the village
The Chief Minister said that in the coming three years, tap water will be available in every house in every village. This year, a provision of Rs 6 thousand crore has been made in the budget and a target to provide tap water to 26 lakh houses has been set. Funds will also be received from the central government. The target is to provide tap-water facility to one crore 3 lakh houses in three years. Chief Minister Chouhan said that women’s courts (Nari Adalat) will be established in panchayats which will help solve petty issues in families without having to visit police stations and courts.
Those who mislead girls will get life imprisonment
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the Freedom of Religion Bill has been introduced in the Legislative Assembly. Criminals who intimidate, bully or seduce girls will be sentenced to life imprisonment. Praising Madhya Pradesh Police, he said that the police have rescued 9,000 such missing girls. Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country which not only provision for hanging by death to serious offenders, but so far 72 such criminals have been hanged. Appealing to the Supreme Court, Chouhan said that there is often a lot of delay in reaching the Supreme Court through a low-level court, so new guidelines for hearing should be issued at the earliest, so that the decision is taken fast.
Self-help groups will get responsibility in many important tasks
Chief Minister Chouhan said that women self-help groups will also purchase wheat and other crops, in which they will get commission. He said that the oil, spices etc. used in the mid-day meal will also be purchased from the women self-help groups. Women self-help groups will be included in the surveys to be conducted at the panchayat level. Nearly 50 percent members under MNREGA will members of women self-help groups. Currently it is 23 percent. Uniforms of students of government schools will be stitched by women self-help groups. Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also stressed on making local to vocal. Local will be made vocal through self-help groups in the state. Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted live with 10 women’s groups.
Self-help groups will also join anti-drugs campaign
The state will be made drug-free by running an anti-drugs campaign. There will be strong participation of women self-help groups in this campaign. Totally drug-free panchayats will not only be awarded but will also be given funds for development separately. The Aparajita programme has been implemented for girls for self-defense from today. In this, martial arts training will be given to 23 thousand girl students of the state.

Outstanding women performers were also present on stage. These included Padmashree Bhuri Bai, Sushri Shivarani, who saved the lives of many people by displaying courage in Sidhi bus accident, Dr. Geeta Rani Gupta, Sushri Kanchan Verma, Sushri. Draupadi Chowksey, Sushri Jyoti Gaur, Sushri Manisha Keer, Sushri Revathi Patel, Sushri Anadi and Sushri Poonam Shroti.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan inaugurated the programme with Kanya Pujan. Culture and Spirituality Minister Sushri Usha Thakur gave welcome speech and Tribal Affairs Department Minister Sushri Meena Singh expressed the vote of thanks. A film based on self-help group was screened on the occasion. Self-help groups from most of the districts of the state with whom the Chief Minister also interacted, took part in the virtual programme.

He made several important announcements on this occasion.
- State government will bear the burden of higher education of all Ladli Laxmi in India and abroad.

- Rs. 2 lakh will be provided separately for the development of villages with equal number of births of male and female child for 3 consecutive years.

- Students of Class IX, X and XI will be educated on the importance of giving respect to women.
