Products of women self-help groups are no less: CM Chouhan

Bhopal 08 March 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated ‘Hunar Haat’ at Bhopal Haat on International Women’s Day. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the material produced by the self-help groups of the state is very good in every respect and of good quality. Efforts will be made for its marketing and branding. The state government is committed to making their products ‘local to vocal’. He said daughters are in no way less than anyone, they can fight for justice while protecting the society itself. The Chief Minister’s wife Sadhana Singh and Culture and Tourism Minister Sushri Usha Thakur were also present at the inauguration of Hunar Haat.

‘Aparajita’ to provide martial arts training to 23 thousand girls

Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the ‘Aparajita’ programme also at Bhopal Haat for the protection of girls. In this, martial arts training of 15 to 21 days will be imparted to 23 thousand girls from all the districts of the state.Outstanding performers at the training will again undergo high level training in Bhopal. Martial arts participants of Bhopal also gave a performance on the occasion. Chief Minister Chouhan said that today women are coming forward successfully in every field.

‘Andayi’ portal of Kodo cuisine started

Chief Minister Chouhan released the ‘Andayi’ portal, ‘Andayi’ book and One Stop Center booklet of recipes based on Kodo, coarse and nutritious grains. Chief Minister Chouhan, Sadhana Singh and Culture Minister Sushri Usha Thakur appreciated the Kodo dishes including Dosa, Idli, Mousse, Khichdi, Roll and Biscuits prepared by women of ‘Andayi’ (Dindori). Chief Minister Chouhan interacted with the trained women and instructor and praised the dishes. The Chief Minister said that Kodo's dishes are amazing, nutritious and delicious as well. He also appealed to the people of the state to enjoy these delicious dishes.

CM hands over loan cheques to beneficiaries

Chief Minister Chouhan also presented symbolic cheques to various beneficiaries at the stalls of Central Bank, State Bank, HDFC, Punjab and Sind Bank and other banks. While a few beneficiaries took loans to establish their own enterprise, some took loans for education and others to set up a vegetable cart.

Chief Minister visits all stalls

Chief Minister Chouhan visited all the stalls with his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh and also purchased products. The Chief Minister viewed the fashion jewellery prepared by the groups and also sought information about the sale of the products.  

Girls who travelled 185 km from Bina to Bhopal on bicycle lauded

Chief Minister Chouhan praised Kajal, Aastha and Sanjana for cycling their way from Bina to Bhopal covering almost 185 km and extended best wishes to set more such records in life. The girls in the 15 -16 age group are students of Class XI and XII.

CM grinds Kodo in hand mill and Chouhan winnows it

Chief Minister Chouhan grounded and crushed Kodo with a pestle in the traditional hand mill at the self-help group stall of Dindori district and Sadhna Singh winnowed it. Self-help group women said that they prepare Kodo flour biscuits, which are sold upto 100 to 150 kg daily. Sadhana Singh also praised the self-help group of Umaria district who made masks on a large scale during the lockdown.

Balshri Awards presented

Chief Minister Chouhan presented Balshri Awards to Tanya Sharma, Sobhi Jain, Sakshi Pandole, Aanya Kekre and Tanishka Singh Rathore. Chief Minister Chouhan also honoured Mamta Mishra, Preeti Meghwani, Rashi, Bindiya and Aadya Singh, for securing 1st to 5th place in the cyclothon held this morning.

Girl presents handmade portrait to CM

Bhopal girl Sheetal Gupta presented a portrait of the Chief Minister made with water colours by her to Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Hunar Haat. Sheetal said that she has made this portrait on the birthday of the Chief Minister. Chief Minister Chouhan praised her for her skills.
Children from Jawahar Bal Bhavan presented a patriotic dance drama in the programme. Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development Manoj Srivastava, Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development Ashok Shah, Director Swati Meena Nayak, Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Sudam Khade and Director of Livelihood Mission L.M. Belwal besides a large number of citizens and women were present.

Hunar Haat to continue for 3 days

Self-help groups of 38 districts of the state have set up 71 stalls in Hunar Haat. Handicrafts, handloom, edible items and Kodo cuisine stalls ‘Andayi’ have begun attracting people from day one. Women self-help groups formed by Tejaswani, State Rural Livelihoods Mission and Urban Livelihoods Mission are taking part in the Hunar Haat. Light food corner of dishes made from Kodo Kutki remains the centre of attraction at Hunar Haat – Window to News
