Media Accused of Supporting Congress

Friday - April 14, 2017 1:37 pm , Category : BHOPAL

For the first time in Madhya Pradesh's politics, it may have happened when the media is accused of cooperating with the Congress. However, there are allegations against media for publishing news in favour of various parties. The BJP government has ruled the state since past 12 years, during this period they have mastered media management in the state and often the Congress has accused media of saffronizing their reports.

But this time it's become interesting because media has been accused of promoting the congress and not the BJP. In the recently held by-election, the BJP had tried its best to win the Ater seat. Several veteran ministers and administrative officials, including Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, campaigned in BJP's favour for the Ater seat of the Bhind district. During the campaign many times CM Chauhan had to face problems, many photos and videos had become viral, many officials were transferred and much more. Despite this,  BJP did not win the seat.

Though Congress candidate Hemant Katare has not won a big margin, but a victory is an achievement, even if it is by a single vote.

After the results of the by-election, when the defeat of BJP candidate Arvind Bhadauria was officially confirmed, his supporters were shocked. Meanwhile, when the media present there wanted to take Bhadauria's statement, their supporters mistreated the media and held the media responsible for the defeat. Some even tried to break the cameras of the media workers present there. Bhadauriya was asked to not talk to the media. However, later Bhadauria spoke to the media and gave a statement.
The thing that came to light out of all this is that the supporters of the ruling party could not digest the defeat and accused the media of supporting the Congress. Whatever could be the matter, at least the media is somewhat free from the charge of saffronizing their reports.

When the SP said, the media is campaigning for Congress:
The matter was on the day of voting when BJP candidate Arvind Bhadauriya was trying to capture the booth, but due to the media activism, it could not do so. When the media raised the question on the inaction of the police during this period, the SP level officer told the media that you are working for the Congress. If you have been caught stealing then you are working for the opposition, if you were involved with theft, then say that the media did fair work. -WTN
