Bhopal 17 March 2021: The ongoing activities for Covid vaccination and the progress made in this direction in Madhya Pradesh was lauded in the presentation held during the video conference conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the condition of Corona infection in the country . Giving the mantra of Dawai bhi Kadai bhi Jaroori (both medicine and strictness must) to the country, Prime Minister Modi said, that it is necessary to wear masks, strictly adhere to social distancing and hygiene to prevent Corona. Constant activities should be conducted to create awareness about this. He called for increasing the number of testing and vaccination centers in states getting re-affected by Corona infection as per requirement.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that control over the Corona infection has been achieved with the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the management of the states besides cooperation of the people. Vaccination of 3 crore 50 lakh people has been completed in the country’s largest immunization campaign starting from January 16 in the country. There is a need to run intensive activities for vaccination in the districts where Corona cases are on the rise.

Corona will be controlled without halting economic activities

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed that in view of increasing cases of Corona, a night curfew has been imposed in Indore and Bhopal from today without closure of economic activities. In Gwalior and Jabalpur, commercial establishments will be closed from 10 am to 6 am. Corona cases have been found in Betul, Burhanpur, Ratlam, Sagar and Ujjain. Here also, activities are being conducted for strict adherence to prevention measures such as masks, social distancing, and awareness campaigns. Other 42 districts of the state have reported minimum cases. The number of cases in any district is not more than ten.

Vaccination is being administered in the form of a campaign

Chief Minister Chouhan said that vaccinations are being administered in the form a campaign. The public is being motivated for vaccination by creating a festive atmosphere at the vaccination centers in collaboration with voluntary organizations. So far 7 lakh 24 thousand front line and health workers have been given the first dose of vaccine and 3 lakh 55 thousand workers have been given the second dose.

Ban on fairs, Holi programmes, Bhagoria, Ger etc.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that 335 samples of U.K variant have been taken in the state, of which 8 have tested positive. Since February 2021, people affected by Corona are being treated through tele-consultation under home isolation. There are adequate beds, adequate arrangements of oxygen and other necessary materials in the hospitals of the state. To control Corona infection, fairs, Holi programme, Bhagoria, Ger etc. have been banned. Gathering of more than 50 percent of the capacity has been prohibited in social events also. In 10 districts of the state where Corona cases are comparatively higher, strict observance of masks and social distancing will be ensured and special campaign will be conducted for public awareness.

Corona control through testing, tracing, treatment and vaccination

Chief Minister Chouhan said that on September 19, the maximum number of Corona cases in the state was recorded at 2607 on a single day. After this the number came down to 514 in October. Again on November 27, 1798 cases were registered, which declined to a minimum of 141 in a single day on February 14. Due to this decline in the number of cases, life started returning to normal. Effortless participation of common people increased in professional, social, religious events. Now cases are again on the rise in 10 districts of the state. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efficient leadership, his mantra of Dawai bhi, Kadai bhi besides testing, tracing, treatment and vaccination will keep check on Corona. Containment zones will also be built at the micro level when required.
