Preventing Corona infection is our top priority

Bhopal 21 March 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Corona infection is once again spreading in the state. At such a time, the government’s topmost priority is to prevent Corona infection. All the officers in charge should become active and monitor their districts daily. All districts should hold Crisis Management Group meetings and ensure best arrangements for prevention, testing and treatment of Corona infection in the districts.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that we will have to take all other measures except lockdown to prevent Corona infection so that economic activities are not affected and people do not have to face any difficulties. The public must be made aware to wear masks, maintain social distancing and take necessary precautions. For this, active support of public representatives, religious leaders, social workers etc. should be sought.

Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the status and arrangements of Corona in all the districts of the state through video conferencing from his residence today. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, DGP Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Health. Mohammad Suleman, Additional Chief Secretary Home Rajesh Rajaura and Principal Secretary Manish Rastogi were present in the meeting.

Maximum cases in Bhopal

In a district-wise review of Corona it was found that the highest number of 382 cases were reported in Bhopal, 326 in Indore, 108 in Jabalpur, 42 in Betul, 41 in Gwalior, 38 in Ratlam, 35 in Khargone, 34 in Sagar, 28 in Ujjain, 27 in Chhindwara, 21 in Burhanpur and 20 new cases in Khandwa. In the last 7 days, an average of 1019 cases per day tested positive in the state. The state’s average positivity rate has been 5.3 percent. Chief Minister Chouhan instructed to take special care in all the districts.

Celebrate festivals at home

Chief Minister Chouhan said that to prevent Corona infection, it is necessary that the upcoming festivals of Holi, etc. should be celebrated at home. Chal samaroha will be banned. Formation of crowds will not be allowed.

Social activities and fairs prohibited

Chief Minister Chouhan said that fairs will be banned in all districts. Social activities will also be banned in all districts except in districts where there are fewer cases of Corona. Important social activities will be allowed with a limited number of participants after seeking permission of the district administration.

Corona siren will ring daily at 11 am and 7 pm

A Corona siren will ring at 11 am and 7 pm daily for a few days from March 23 onwards to remind people to be vigilant, alert and cautious. When the Corona siren will ring at 11 am on Tuesday March 23, people have to stop where they are and resolve to put on masks and keep social distance. After this, public representatives, social workers, cadets of NCC and NSS, etc. will make people wear masks and motivate them to take precaution.
