Chief Minister Chouhan planted mango sapling

Bhopal 28 March 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan planted a mango sapling at Smart Garden, Bhopal today as a pledge to plant saplings every day. Chief Minister Chouhan said that this plant will grow and give fruits and it will also contribute to environmental protection.

Mango is the most popular and easily grown plant in almost every state of India. Mango is called the king of fruits due to its taste, flavour and appearance. There are more than a thousand varieties of mangoes, of which only 40-50 varieties have been found suitable from a commercial point of view. Dussehri, Langra, Chausa, Fajri, Alphonso, Totapari, Bombay Green, etc. are the main varieties of mangoes. Nurjahan, which occurs in Kattiwada in Alirajpur district in Madhya Pradesh, and Rewa's Sundarja have their own unique identity. There are also some local varieties in the state like Amrapali, Mallika, Gajaria, Dahiyar etc.
