EASTER MAHOTSAV 2017 at BSSS

Easter Mahotsav organised at BSSS College ground. Nearly, a large number of people belongs to Christians, and many other religions came together to celebrate Easter Mahotsav. On this occasion Archbishop Most Rev. Leo Cornelio SVD said – Easter is all about knowing, believing, loving and serving the Lord to become serving people, loving people, joyful people and living people. All those who encountered the Resurrected Lord will become to witness to all that he taught, did and proclaimed. Easter is not a one-day celebration but an eternal commemoration of Christ love.
Rev Pastor Biju Varghese said that in the present context there is a lot of violence against the believers of Christ. He asked all the believers to encounter the recent Lord in day to day life as the death is not an end but a beginning towards a new life.
The Programme began with a prayer by Rev. Sameer Khimla, CNI followed by lighting the lamp. Fr. Johney P J welcomed all the dignitaries and asked the people to organise the traditional Mahotsav in the future too. There was a welcome dance by St. Francis Co-Ed School, Barrai. The Mahotsav was highlighted with 20 minutes dance and drama with the theme “I am the Resurrection” says the Lord. The school from St. Xavier, BHEL, Queen Mary, Ayodhya Nagar and St. Montfort, Anand Nagar added more colour to the drama with their students’ dance. The main characters of the drama were the brothers from SVD Vidhya Bhavan.
Rev Pastor Vijay Nathaniel said a prayer with Bible verses to prepare to receive the Easter Message followed by a song from NCDC and Bethlehem Churches. Alok Sharma, the Mayor and Vishwas Sarang, the Cabinet minister wished the Christians a joyful Easter and asked the Christians to carry on the good work they do. Fr. Jose Prakash thanked all the guests, volunteers and Grace Media World for making this mega event very memorable one. There were Easter Songs presented by the Zion Church, Pioneer Church and Holy Redeemer Church. Fr. Maria Stephen the PRO appreciating the sincere collaboration of the Pastors, Fathers, and Sisters for the mega event said in his reply to a question that the principle of Resurrection teaches us is that God will always finish What He started. No matter how dark it looks, how long it’s been, how many people pushed you down, if you will stay in faith, God will always take you from Friday to Sunday and complete what he started in you.
The different religious leaders, educationists and well-renowned personalities were present for the Mahotsav. It was a colourful and fun-filled evening for all the families, well-wishers and friends. The entire event got over at 10.30 pm with a benediction by Pr. C.P. Singh.
