Sleemanabad tunnel work should be done expeditiously

Bhopal 02 June 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that work of Sleemanabad canal has been affected due to Covid-19, but now this work should be done expeditiously. There should not be any obstacle in the work. Tunnel work should be completed within the stipulated time frame by June 2023.
Chief Minister Chouhan reviewed the progress of Sleemanabad tunnel work at Mantralaya today. Horticulture and Food Processing and Narmada Valley Development Minister Bharat Singh Kushwaha, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Shri I.C.P. Keshari and others were present in the meeting.
Provide temporary accommodation
Chief Minister Chouhan directed that during the construction of Sleemanabad Tunnel, people may face problems due to vibration in some areas of Sleemanabad, so those residents should be provided alternate temporary accommodation. When the work is complete, they will return to their residences.
Do not stop power supply
Chief Minister Chouhan directed that there should not be any power cut during tunnel work. Considering this task to be extremely necessary, the power supply should be uninterrupted.
Cost 799 crores, length 11.95 km
The cost of Sleemanabad Tunnel of Bargi Vyaparvatan Project is 799 crores and the length is 11.95 km. Out of this, work of 6.036 km has been completed and work of 5.914 km is pending. The manufacturing agency is M/s Patel A.E.W. (Joint Venture) Hyderabad – Window to News
