Make a plan to ensure care of all destitute children
Chief Minister Chouhan took a meeting regarding care of destitute children 
 
 
Bhopal 11 June 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that no child will remain orphan in the state while we are here; every child will have a guardian. Not only such children whose parents have passed away due to Covid, but all those children who are destitute, the government will make arrangements for their food, education, living etc.

Chief Minister Chouhan directed the officers that a new scheme should be prepared to ensure care of all destitute children in the state.

Chief Minister Chouhan was taking a meeting in Mantralaya today regarding the care of destitute children of the state. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, ACS Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary Ashok Shah and others were present in the meeting. School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar joined through VC.

First priority should be children get guardians

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the first effort should be made so that the children get guardians. Those who do not get guardians, arrangements for their stay should be made in government institutions.

Inspect non-government organisations

Chief Minister Chouhan directed that the work of non-government organisations which take care of destitute children should also be inspected whether they are taking proper care of the children or not. Many organisations are doing very good work.

2457 orphan children

It was informed in the meeting that from March 2021 till date, a total of 2457 children are destitute in the state. Of these, 714 children do not have parents, 1536 children do not have one of their parents and 207 children are abandoned. Assistance has been given to 329 children under the Covid Bal Upchar Yojana and 939 children under the Sponsorship and Foster Care Scheme. Remaining 1189 children will be provided early assistance.

Conduct survey to find out exact number

Chief Minister Chouhan directed that the exact number of all destitute children in the state should be ascertained by conducting a survey and an integrated new scheme should be prepared for their care, so that every child can be properly looked after – Window to News
