Inactivity and inefficiency in development and public welfare works will not be tolerated: CM Chouhan
Chief Minister Chouhan addresses ministers and senior officers
Bhopal 06 July 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that in the last three months, the control of Covid infection in the state was on topmost priority. All the ministers and officers worked in this direction with full dedication thus giving positive results. Now work has to be done at a fast pace towards the goal set for the creation of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. Roadmap is ready for building an Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh, activities, sub activities, outputs and outcomes etc. have been fixed. Now it is necessary to ensure that all the targets are achieved within the time limit. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the meeting of Ministers, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary and Head of Department in Mantralaya.
Roadmap goals must be achieved within the time limit
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the state is facing economic crisis due to Corona, but our priority is that development activities and implementation of welfare schemes should not be affected due to economic conditions. Chief Minister Chouhan said that review meetings should be organized every Monday to ensure that the targets of the roadmap for Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh are achieved in a time-bound manner. In this, the ministers of the Group of Ministers should take the lead and the officers must ensure the implementation. Similarly, various Groups of Ministers presented their recommendations. Out of these, implementation of the recommendations regarding which decision has been taken in the meeting, should be started on priority. Wherever there is a need to take policy decisions in these works, the matter should be presented before the Council of Ministers. Issues in which coordination or inter-departmental coordination with the Government of India is required, it should be brought to the notice of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat or the Chief Secretary immediately.
Proper maintenance of roads, bridges and buildings must
Chief Minister Chouhan said that those buildings, roads, bridges and other assets which have been constructed by the government, should be properly maintained so that these properties can be used in public interest for long. The repair and maintenance of roads during the rainy season needs to be paid special attention.
There should be no complaints of corruption
Chief Minister Chouhan said that no eligible person should remain deprived of the benefits of the scheme in the beneficiary-oriented schemes, and it has to be ensured that the ineligible should not get the benefits in any way. It is true that in the Covid period, a few schemes could not be implemented due to budget constraints, but we have to ensure that there is no corruption. Inaction and inefficiency in the implementation of schemes will not be tolerated.
Unnecessary expenses must be curtailed
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the revenue of the government has reduced during the Covid period. This is a difficult period, hence all efforts should be made to increase the earning through revenue. Wherever there is leakage and negligence in the implementation of plans and programmes, it has to be rectified so that the resources can be properly utilized. On the other hand, we have to curtail unnecessary expenses and be as thrifty as possible. The greater the financial discipline, the more resources will grow. The work which we have got done by contractors and agencies, their payment should be done on priority. The payments of contractors should not remain unnecessarily pending. This is the root of corruption.
Increase employment opportunities
Chief Minister Chouhan said that efforts should be made to get maximum amount from the Government of India in various schemes. For this, constant contact and dialogue should be maintained with the central government at the ministerial and official level. Innovation efforts must continue in all departments. More and more employment opportunities must be generated in the state. Therefore, necessary activities should be conducted for creating a conducive environment for investment and promoting investment.
There should be total transparency in transfers
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the ban on transfer has been removed till July 31. Total transparency should be maintained in the transfers and according to the policy, transfers should be done on administrative and humanitarian grounds keeping in view the local conditions. It should be ensured that no one faces any difficulty.
Social media team in all departments must remain cautious and vigilant
Chief Minister Chouhan said that social media teams should be alert, cautious and active in all departments. Departmental officers should keep an eye on the activities going on in the social media in relation to the department. Misleading information should be immediately refuted and countered. The actual facts and situation should be brought before the public. If there is anything lacking or a mistake of the department, then necessary action should be taken immediately.
