Dedication and bhoomi-pujan of development works worth Rs 175 crores in Burhanpur
Bhopal 17 July 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state government will leave no stone unturned to realize the unfulfilled dreams of former MP Late Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan. His contribution towards the development of Burhanpur district is unforgettable. Chief Minister Chouhan said that development of Burhanpur district cannot be imagined without Nandu Bhaiya. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the programme of dedication and bhoomi-pujan of of development works at Parmanandji Govindjiwala Auditorium in Burhanpur on Saturday.
Chief Minister Chouhan performed bhoomi-pujan and dedicated development works worth about Rs 175 crores. These include dedication of development works worth Rs 106 crore and bhoomi-pujan of development works costing Rs 67 crore.
The programme began with the garlanding of the portrait of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and lighting a lamp. Chief Minister Chouhan also performed kanya-pujan.
Ensure tap water supply to every house by September 25
Chief Minister Chouhan said that, adequate water must be provided to the citizens through pipelines and taps under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed the officers of Public Health Engineering Department to ensure that pure water is supplied through taps to every household in Burhanpur by September 25.
CM holds discussion with beneficiaries, releases booklets
Chief Minister Chouhan released the work-plan booklet prepared by the district administration regarding the preparations for the possible third wave of third Covid -19 and a booklet related to Atmanirbhar roadmap-2023 of Burhanpur district. Chief Minister Chouhan honoured 5 doctors as Corona warriors and held virtual discussions with the beneficiaries of government schemes.
Works of Burhanpur district administration lauded
Chief Minister Chouhan lauded the work done by Burhanpur district administration for prevention of Covid-19. He said that despite being located on the Maharashtra border, Corona has been effectively controlled in this district. There has not been a single positive case of Corona in Burhanpur district since the last 33 days. Despite this, the habit of wearing mask and practising social distancing should continue to protect against Corona. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Burhanpur model is being praised across the country with regard to prevention of Covid infection.
Quality of banana and its export will be increased
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Burhanpur is known for the sweetest bananas in the country and abroad. By further improving the quality of banana, its export will be increased.
Minister in-charge Prem Singh Patel said that Burhanpur district is progressing rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister Chouhan. He said that the development of Burhanpur will be firther accelerated. MLA Thakur Surendra Singh said that the ground water level of the district is the lowest in the state. Therefore, there is a need to bring Indira Sagar water from Khandwa district through canal in order to provide adequate water for irrigation and drinking water here. He requested to approve the irrigation scheme for this. Nepanagar MLA Smt.
Kasdekar thanked Chief Minister Chouhan for the development works done in Nepanagar. Former minister Archana Chitnis thanked Chief Minister Chouhan for the development works done in Burhanpur district in the last 15 years. She urged him to approve the Tapti Mega Recharge Project.
Atal Smriti Smarak dedicated
Chief Minister Chouhan dedicated ‘Atal Smriti Smarak’ in memory of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Burhanpur. He also offered floral tributes at the Smarak. Chief Minister Chouhan also planted saplings here.
‘Mask up Burhanpur’ campaign launched
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also launched the ‘Mask up Burhanpur’ campaign. He gave masks to the citizens by wearing a mask with the symbol of ‘Banana Harvest’, the identity of Burhanpur district – Window to News
