Bhopal 19 July 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that final decision on opening of schools for Class XIth and XIIth from July 26 will be taken by the Crisis Management Committees. Schools can begin operating in the districts where there are no cases of Corona. But in this regard, Crisis Management Committees, Ministers in-charge of the districts, District Collector can hold discussions and begin operating the schools by taking people into confidence. Children should not called to school without the permission of their parents. Parental consent will be required for children to come to school. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing a meeting organized regarding Corona control at Mantralaya. Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Prabhuram Choudhary, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Health Mohammad Suleman and Director General of Police Vivek Johri were present in the meeting. In-charge ministers and officers in-charge of all the districts participated virtually in the meeting.
Adherence to Corona appropriate behaviour in classes must
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the operation of Class XIth and XIIth should be started from July 26 with 50 percent capacity. Initially, classes should be conducted one day at a time on an experimental basis. From the first week of August, classes should be conducted for two days with 50 percent capacity. 50 percent of the students of the class should come on the first two days and the remaining 50 percent on the next two days. In this way, in a week only four days of school will be held. Chief Minister Chouhan said that it will be necessary to maintain social distancing by sitting in alternate chairs, wearing mask, use of sanitizer and 100 percent adherence to Corona appropriate behaviour.
Restaurants can now be opened till 11 pm
Chief Minister Chouhan said that now restaurants can be opened till 11 pm. Curfew will continue from 11 pm to 6 am. Chief Minister Chouhan instructed all the in-charge ministers that crowded events should not be organized. Small events are allowed, but 100 percent adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour should be ensured. Chief Minister Chouhan while lauding the programme organized in Burhanpur in adherence to Covid appropriate behaviour said that by presenting such examples in events, the public can be motivated to adopt Covid appropriate behavior. Chief Minister Chouhan directed that all industrial units of the state should ensure 100 percent vaccination of its employees and labourers in private hospitals.
In view of the possibilities of third wave of Corona, a presentation was given on the possibility of infection in the state, vaccination campaign, ongoing preparations regarding resources, oxygen supply, availability of human resource and training etc. in hospitals in this meeting which was focused on the ongoing preparations in the state, in view of the current situation of Corona infection and the situation of infection in the country and the world.
All oxygen plants to start functioning by September 30
Chief Minister Chouhan said that states like Kerala and Maharashtra should be monitored along with countries with more infections. Labs should be developed for corona testing in remote districts including divisional level in the state, so that there is no delay in getting reports and necessary treatment can be started immediately. In view of the past experience, necessary capacity should be developed in all the districts while estimating the availability of oxygen. Chief Minister Chouhan directed to increase the capacity of hospitals, ensure availability of equipment and medicines in time. Chief Minister Chouhan said that all oxygen plants should be started by September 30. CT Scan is a big challenge, every effort should be made to expand this facility in the state.
Micro planning at hospital level must in view of the third wave
Chief Minister Chouhan directed all the in-charge ministers to continuously monitor the preparations in the hospitals in their respective districts. Instructions were given to ensure necessary coordination in the works of capacity building of hospitals, immediate redressal of problems and maintenance of available resources. Chief Minister Chouhan said that it shoud be fixed now itself and micro planning must be made as to which hospitals will patients go to, what will be the nature of supply of oxygen, availability of essential medicines and material in case of a third wave.
State’s recovery rate is 98.6 percent
It was told in the meeting that there are only 12 confirmed cases of Corona and 202 active cases in the state. Madhya Pradesh ranks 32nd at the national level. The recovery rate of the state is 98.6 percent, while the national rate is 97.3 percent. A presentation on the situation and trends of infection in America, England besides Maharashtra, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Assam was given in the meeting. It was informed that the possibility of a third wave is being expressed in September-October.
Vaccination of more than 1 crore done in the 18 to 44 age group
Nearly 8 lakh 57 thousand 320 health care workers, 8 lakh 90 thousand 246 frontline workers, 50 lakh 66 thousand 690 persons above 60, 68 lakh 96 thousand 963 persons in the age group of 45 to 60 and 1 crore 14 lakh 74 thousand 334 persons of the 18 to 44 age group in the state have been vaccinated. Instructions were given in the meeting to take effective measures to control vaccination wastage in Gwalior district and to pay special attention to training for the same. A phased plan of vaccination by December 2021 was also presented.
Number of oxygen beds is being increased
In view of the possibility of a third wave, information was given regarding increasing the number of beds in hospitals, oxygen management, equipment and medicines, human resources and training and treatment arrangements. As many as 11 thousand 185 beds are available in the state and 3063 new oxygen beds are being arranged. Along with this, 750 oxygen beds are being increased by the Medical Education Department.
186 PSA plants are being set up in the state for oxygen
As many as 186 PSA plants are being set up for oxygen, out of which 34 have started functioning. The remaining 152 P.S.A. plants will begin by September 30. This will provide a capacity of 229 metric tonnes of oxygen. Along with this, the work of oxygen plants is going on at the Medical Education Department and at the district level also, which will be completed by September 30. Supply of oxygen concentrators, ventilators, C-Pep, Bi-Pep etc. is also in process.
1020 more staff nurses appointed
As many as one thousand 20 staff nurses have been appointed in the state. Along with this, 148 radiographers, 248 lab technicians were also appointed. There are 7,523 medical officers, 15 thousand 999 staff nurses, 26 thousand 301 AYUSH medical officers and 34 thousand 439 field workers, 51 thousand 684 ASHA and 14 thousand 217 ANMs in the state who were imparted Covid related training in May 2021 – Window to News
