Ministers Singh and Bhadauria review preparations for the Anna Utsav
Bhopal 23 July 2021: Anna Utsav is being organised by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually launch the Annotsav programme organised under the "Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana" on August 7. Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Bisahulal Singh and Cooperative Minister Arvind Bhadauria reviewed the preparations for Annotsav at Mantralaya today. They said that on the occasion of Anna Utsav, free ration would be distributed from 25 thousand 435 fair price shops across the state.

Food Minister Singh said that according to the intention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as per the instructions of Chief Minister Chouhan, in order to ensure food security to every citizen during the Corona period, free ration is being distributed to all the beneficiaries of NFSA, in addition to their entitlement, at the rate of 5 kg per person per month. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Mahotsav is being organised to make the beneficiaries more aware about the scheme.
One nation one ration card
Food Minister Singh said that Madhya Pradesh is among 32 states in the country where eligible families under One Nation One Ration Card can get ration from any government fair price shop under the National Food Security Act 2013. Along with this, ration is being distributed to about 4 lakh families of the state through portability every month. In the last one year under the scheme, 1266 families of other states were provided ration from Madhya Pradesh.
10 kg ration will be distributed in bags
Food Minister Singh informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, 5 kg rice or wheat per person per month will be distributed to the beneficiary in one lump sum for two months. The eligible beneficiaries from outside the state will also be benefitted under this scheme.
Cooperative Minister Arvind Bhadauria informed that preparations are being made for Annotsav in the form of a celebration at fair price shops in urban and rural areas of the state. In this, folk dance and cultural programmes will be organised by local artists. The festival will be promoted through banners and filming video spots in the programme, so that more and more beneficiaries can get the benefit of the scheme – Window to News
