Bhopal 31 July 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel said that education should be made more socially useful. Our youths should be encouraged to become aware of the life values, standards and responsibilities and to contribute actively in the progress of the nation. The Governor was addressing the programme organised on the eve of 51st Foundation Day of Barkatullah University at Gyan Vigyan Bhawan today.
Governor Patel has expected the universities to make effective changes in the education system according to the new National Education Policy, so that originality is developed among the students. They get inspiration and encouragement for new experiments. The student should be able to make an active contribution to the development of the country with his capacity and capability by taking quality education. On this occasion, Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Principal Secretary to Governor D.P. Ahuja were also present.
Governor Mangubhai Patel said that universities should develop social responsibility, sense of duty, moral values, service and self-reliance among the students along with the spread of education, so that in future they can contribute effectively in building the nation and healthy society. Referring to Madhya Pradesh having maximum number of vaccinations in the country, he said that this achievement is a great example of the success achieved by the participation of the government and the society. He congratulated the government of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the people of the state. Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for giving additional 14 lakh vaccine doses as an incentive to the state and also appreciated the students and staff of the university for their cooperation in the vaccination work. He spoke about the need for the participation of students in the programmes of the university's ideological discourse.
Governor Patel has asked to emphasize on the efforts of spreading education among the backward communities of the society, deprived sections, women through online education. Along with constantly updating the available technology, he also stressed the need for research and invention efforts. He has asked the universities to prepare a detailed action plan to meet the possible challenges keeping in view the upcoming academic session. He said that the dream of a self-reliant India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned into a resolve today. He called upon the youth to inculcate self-reliance in their heart and mind. Along with making their own efforts for self-reliance, they should also help in the efforts of others.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that every university should have an agriculture faculty. Efforts are being made by the state government in this direction. Taking lessons from the Covid pandemic, a need has been felt to come out of the prevailing purview of medicine, he said. The opportunity that has been given in the form of National Education Policy. Efforts are being made to bring a new dimension in the education system of the state. He said that the government would go step by step with the universities in their efforts for academic quality. He stressed the need for mutual use of resources. He said that the smart city has capital resources for setting up the incubation centre, but there is a shortage of human resource. While the university has human resources, it does not have capital resources.
