Efforts should be made to take the country forward from the existing conventions

Bhopal 31 July 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel has called upon all the teachers, disciples, thinkers, researchers to recognize our people, our skills, our core capabilities and consider the possibilities of their optimum utilization use, every crisis brings with it an opportunity. Covid-19 is also no exception. The new opportunities that can emerge in the areas of development, should be explored. He said that instead of following the post-Covid world, we should make efforts to take India ahead of the existing conventions. The Governor was addressing an e-seminar from Raj Bhavan, on the role of educational institutions in the present circumstances. The seminar was organized under the joint auspices of Education, Culture Upliftment Trust and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore.

Governor Mangubhai Patel said that under the present circumstances, there should be extensive brainstorming on minimizing the negative impact of the effects of Covid on the education system. The availability of content, e-books etc. in digital form should be expanded for online education system, while strictly adopting covid appropriate behaviour. Efforts should be made to make online education a medium to take education to the disadvantaged sections and areas. The focus should also be on making technology user friendly. Study and research efforts are equally important along with continuously updating the available technology. He has stressed on the efforts to make education student-oriented by teaching according to the characteristics, weaknesses and interests of each student through artificial intelligence in making education individual oriented. He said that the system of online education should be strengthened in all those subjects of the course which do not require skill or practical. Subjects which require ability based skills should be identified for teaching both online and offline and teaching work should be done. With this, it will be possible to make a qualitative change in the education of the students living in remote areas. He told to make online education outcome based and to create such online platform of certification, through which students can enhance their learning skills.

Governor Mangubhai Patel said that it is likely that some students are facing financial or family challenges due to the pandemic. Schools should be more sensitive towards such students and prepare action plans accordingly. Efforts should be made to ensure that no student is deprived of education due to financial crisis. He said that the entire society has been affected by Corona. There is a need to adopt a new lifestyle which includes yoga and traditional methods of medicine to develop immunity. He said that we must understand that we have to learn to live with Corona. We ourselves are responsible for our health. With this spirit, efforts will have to ensure the safety of every section of the society. Congratulating the workers of Shiksha, Sanskruti, Utthan Nyas, New Delhi for the works being done with different themes and dimensions, he said that their efforts assure a bright future of the country. Patel paid his humble tributes to the people who died due to Covid at the seminar. Remembering the services of all Corona Warriors, he congratulated them. He has done the work of serving the public by understanding the social responsibility of the staff of educational institutions, students. He also appreciated his individual and institutional efforts.

Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that according to the National Education Policy made in keeping with the Indian sentiments, the state is continuously moving ahead in the field of education according to Indian culture and future requirements. Work is being done at a fast pace on the successful implementation of various dimensions related to curriculum, teacher training by forming a task force. He informed that a comprehensive programme has also been prepared for adoption of villages of the state.

National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas and keynote speaker of the programme Atul Kothari said that if education changes, the country changes. During the Covid pandemic, the educational institutions have played the role of giving direction to the society by partaking in the sufferings of the society. The teachers of the schools affiliated to the trust have shown social commitment by going to remote areas in tribal areas by engaging in teaching and training work. He said that educational institutions will have to make similar efforts to make the resolve of building Atmanirbhar Bharat successful. There is a need to provide an environment of self-reliance in educational institutions. He informed that Sharda Group has taken the initiative in this direction by taking a pledge to make Jhabua self-reliant.

Sharda Group Jhabua and Swami Vivekanand Vishwavidyalaya Sagar gave a presentation of the work of social concerns by educational institutions in the Covid period in the seminar. On this occasion, Ashok Kadle gave information about the activities of Shiksha, Sanskriti, Utthan Nyas. The welcome address was given by Smt. Renu Jain, Vice Chancellor of Devi Ahilya University.
