Bhopal 06 August: 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that cooperative is in our customs and culture. We follow the path of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” and “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. The thinking for everyone's benefit, everyone's welfare and everyone's wellbeing is cooperatives.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh presented the ideal of disaster control through cooperatives during the period of Covid. The district, block, ward and village level Crisis Management Committees played a very important role in controlling the corona.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that cooperatives are omnipresent like God and do welfare of all. Extremely useful especially for those of smaller means. They have intelligence, efficiency, ability but they do not have economic and other resources. The cooperative provides them all. More and more employment opportunities will be created in the state through cooperatives in various sectors.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing a workshop on the topic “Cooperative Movement in MP: New Energy, New Power and New Horizons” at Mantralaya today. Cooperative experts from various fields, Cooperative Minister Arvind Singh Bhadauria, MP Ramakant Bhargava, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains were present in the workshop.
Women self-help groups set an example
Chief Minister Chouhan said that women self-help groups in Madhya Pradesh have set the best example of cooperatives. To empower them in the state, a bank loan of Rs 1400 crore has been made available at 4% interest rate.
Renewal of economy through cooperatives
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the economy would be rebuilt through cooperatives in the state. Cooperation will be strengthened in various sectors like tourism, dairy, animal husbandry, fisheries etc. Cooperatives will become 'engine of growth' in the state.
Promotion of food processing
Chief Minister Chouhan said that there is bumper production of crops in Madhya Pradesh. Most of the wheat of country is grown here. There is also a lot of production of horticultural crops. Food processing will be promoted more and more through cooperatives in the state.
"Amul doodh peeta hai India"
Chief Minister Chouhan told Amul's Director Sodi that 'Amul' has amazing marketing. The song 'Amul doodh peeta hai India' is also on my tongue.
"I am a student not a guide"
When Chief Minister Chouhan was invited to provide guidance in the workshop, he said that "I am a student, not a guide." Big experts of cooperatives have come here, I have come to get guidance from them. I am grateful to all that they gave their invaluable time to the state.
The cooperative movement has gained momentum
Cooperative Minister Arvind Bhadauria said that cooperative movement has gained momentum in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The cooperative movement will benefit from the experiences of experts from various fields of cooperatives who came in today's workshop.
Cooperative needs capital
Satish Marathe, Director, RBI Central Board said that today there is a need for capital in the cooperative sector. For this, it is necessary to make co-operative institutions more empowered by making necessary amendments in the existing laws. He stressed the need for creating a better environment to strengthen the cooperative. Marathe said that the dairy sector is important in doubling the income of the farmers. This can lead to a good increase in their income. Madhya Pradesh has huge potential for animal seed production and food processing. There was a good market for oilseeds in Madhya Pradesh. The production of oilseeds and pulses should be increased in the state.
Need for better environment
Marathe said that about 8.5 lakh cooperative societies are registered in India. Out of these, except for housing construction societies, the remaining 4.5 to 5 lakh cooperative societies are directly associated with economic activities. To empower them, there is a need to create a better environment in the field of cooperatives. There are good income opportunities in the field of tourism through cooperatives.
Cooperative strong even when the prices of crops fall
Kishore Kumar, President, Campco said that the cooperative provides support to the crops even when the market prices fall. When the price of garlic fell in the state of Karnataka, cooperatives helped the farmers by buying garlic in large quantities at good prices. This is the power of cooperative. He stressed the use of technology in farming through cooperatives.
Co-op is for people doing small works who can't do anything alone
R.S. Sodi, Regional Director, Amul said that cooperatives are for businessmen and workers doing small works who cannot do anything alone. Together they can do a great job. To make the cooperative sector profitable, the help of professional people has to be taken in it. Use of modern technology is also necessary. Marketing and branding should also be taken care of. Sodi said that Madhya Pradesh is leading in the field of cooperatives in the country and for this Chief Minister Chouhan deserves congratulations.
Cooperative training to farmers
Cooperative expert D.D. Tripathi said that by imparting training to the farmers, their Farmer Production Organisations can be formed. Self-help groups and farmers' cooperatives should be encouraged for agricultural produce processing. Human resource policy will also have to be made in the field of cooperatives. Cold chain, storage will also have to be promoted in the state.
Madhya Pradesh ranks fourth in milk production
Cooperative expert Subhash Pandey said that Madhya Pradesh was far behind in dairy sector but good progress has been made in this sector through women self-help groups under the leadership of Chief Minister Chouhan. Today Madhya Pradesh ranks fourth in the country in milk production.
Aim to provide maximum employment
Antony of Indian Coffee Workers Co-Operative Society (Indian Coffee House) said that the main objective of our cooperative organisation is to provide maximum employment. At present we have 36 branches in Madhya Pradesh. Now coffee houses are being opened in small towns too.
Loan at 0% Interest Big Step
Member of Parliament and cooperative expert Ramakant Bhargava said that in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Chouhan gives agricultural loan to farmers at 0% interest and the amount of interest is paid by the government. This is a big step in the field of agriculture and cooperatives. Dairy and fisheries activities should be promoted throughout the state.
Need to increase self employment opportunities
Washington DC’s cooperative expert Prof. Shamika Ravi said that there is a need to increase self-employment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh. Agricultural technology should be promoted. Crops should also be processed.
Told definition of cooperative
State President of Sahakar Bharati, Vivek Chaturvedi while explaining the definition of cooperative said that when all the three powers, money, labour and intelligence are combined, then its benefits are shared among all that is cooperative. Labour cooperative societies should be formed in Madhya Pradesh.
