CM Chouhan issues instructions in first meeting of task force
Bhopal 07 August 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the way in which excessive rains and floods have disrupted life in some districts of the state, making re-arrangements is a challenge. This work has to be completed with the cooperation of the administration of the districts, the task force constituted by the state government and citizens.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the flood situation caused by excessive rainfall in the state, has resulted in massive damage to infrastructure and private movable and immovable properties. The first priority is to clean the debris of houses damaged by floods, arrange clean drinking water, prevent spread of diseases, fix electricity system and provide food grains and food to the affected people. For this, all the concerned ministers, officers and social organization should ensure arrangements.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was addressing the first meeting of the task force constituted for floods in some districts of the state through video conference from his residence today. He inquired about the relief operations in detail and issued necessary instructions. The concerned ministers and officials attended the meeting.
Issuing instructions in the task force meeting, Chief Minister Chouhan said that no stone should be left unturned in helping the flood affected citizens. Apart from the regular food grains, 50 kg additional food grains should be distributed to the flood victims. Collectors can provide relief to the affected families by supplying wheatflour in place of food grains. In the meeting, Chief Minister Chouhan sought details about the relief works being carried out in Gwalior and Chambal divisions. It may be noted that keeping in view the circumstances arising out of the floods, the state government has constituted a state level task force to ensure all necessary arrangements for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the damaged assets, assessment of damage caused to the common citizens and for effective management of relief and rehabilitation works. In the first meeting of the task force, Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary Revenue and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Manish Rastogi gave detailed information regarding the rain and flood situation in the state, relief works being conducted. Various ministers also told about the assistance being given to the people affected by the floods in the flood affected districts. At present, three Army helicopters, 8 teams of NDRF and 5 teams of Army are working in the flood affected areas of the state. On Saturday, 198 persons were rescued from the flood situation from Guna and Ashoknagar. After the flood situation arose, about 15,000 citizens were rescued and provided safety in the camps. So far about 25,000 houses have been reported damaged.
Minister Bhupendra Singh informed that 22 machines have been sent from Indore to Sheopur Kala. The staff is also engaged in the work of burying the dead cattle. Drinking water system and sanitation are being provided by arranging tractor trolleys. Minister Tulsi Silawat informed that two trucks of food grains and other materials were dispatched from Gwalior to Shivpuri and Sheopur districts. Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia informed about the problems related to of sowing of paddy crop and other crops and agriculture works in the flood affected areas. Cooperative Minister Arvind Bhadauria and Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains were also present in the meeting.
CM gave instructions in the first meeting of the task force
- The Revenue Department should do the work of assessment of damage in a transparent manner. Don't miss out on eligible people. The list should also be put up in the Panchayat Bhavan.
- Cleanliness should be ensured in cities, towns and villages by the urban administration and other departments. Necessary insecticide should also be sprayed.
- It should be ensured by the Health Department that the diseases do not spread due to piles of debris and dirt after the flood. Necessary medicines should also be made available.
- Energy Department should repair damaged electrical poles, power centre arrangements. Ensure electricity supply in all villages.
- The Food Department should supply ration and additional food grains to the consumers.
- Public Health Engineering Department should ensure the supply of clean drinking water, and purifying water sources should also be done by sprinkling of required powder.
- The Department of Agriculture and Cooperation should do the work of guiding the farmers regarding the security of food grains in the mandis for the upcoming crops.
- Animal Husbandry Department should complete the work on the loss of livestock and health and treatment of animals.
- Home Department should do necessary coordination with disaster teams. Town and village protection committees should play their role by staying alert. The communication system should also be fixed up – Window to News
