Free ration to one crore 15 lakh families of the state
Bhopal 07 August 2021: Prime Minister Modi said that Madhya Pradesh has got rid of its identity of sick state under the leadership of Chief Minister Chouhan. The cities of Madhya Pradesh are setting new examples in cleanliness and development. Congratulating the state for the grain distribution programme under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Prime Minister Modi said that a big campaign is going on in Madhya Pradesh to provide food grain to about 5 crore beneficiaries simultaneously under the scheme. This programme has given me an opportunity to sit amongst the poor and talk to them. This gives me strength to keep doing something for the poor. It is sad that the life and livelihood of people have been affected due to excessive rains and floods in many districts of the state. The central government is with the people of the state. Chief Minister Chouhan and his entire team are engaged in all possible relief and rescue work. The Centre will also ensure all possible assistance.
Prime Minister Modi was virtually addressing the free ration distribution programme organized under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana in Madhya Pradesh as its chief guest. Prime Minister Modi also had a virtual discussion with the beneficiaries of the scheme including Dilip Kumar Kori of Satna, Chandra Badan Vishwakarma of Niwari, Maya Dhurve of Hoshangabad and Rajendra Sharma of Burhanpur.
Programme organized at 25 thousand 435 fair price shops
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan presided over the programme. Food Minister Bisahulal Singh and Cooperatives Minister Arvind Bhadauria were also present in the programme at Minto Hall. Former Uttarakhand Minister Sudesh Joshi and Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh were also present on the stage. A short film was also screened at the event.
Under the programme, 5 kg of wheat and rice is being provided free of cost to the beneficiaries along with the regular ration provided under the National Food Security Act 2013. This foodgrain is being provided in ration bags. One crore 15 lakh families of the state are getting benefited from this food distribution. The programme was organized at all 25 thousand 435 fair price shops of the state.
PM Modi lauds Madhya Pradesh
Praising Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi said that the state government has done commendable work in the direction of providing assistance to the farmers. Madhya Pradesh registered record production by farmers in the state and the state government also made arrangements for procurement in record quantities at MSP. Maximum number of procurement centers in the country were set up for the purchase of wheat in Madhya Pradesh. The state government bought wheat from more than 17 lakh farmers and directly transferred Rs 25 thousand crores to their accounts.
Double engine government beneficial
The Prime Minister said that the biggest advantage of the double engine government is that the state government further improves the schemes of the central government adding strength to them. There is remarkable dynamism in the works of skill development, infrastructure creation in health sector, digital infrastructure, rail and road connectivity etc. in Madhya Pradesh.
Corona biggest disaster in 100 years
Prime Minister Modi said that Corona is the biggest disaster in 100 years. Due to the large population of our country, we had to fight together on many fronts. Along with creating infrastructure in the health sector, we also had to face challenges like providing ration to crores of people and providing them employment. Under these circumstances top priority was given to the poor. Along with providing free ration to more than 80 crore persons, gas was provided to 8 crore people and Rs 30 thousand crore were transferred in the Jan-Dhan accounts of more than 20 crore women. Thousands of crores of rupees were also deposited directly in the bank accounts of workers and farmers. In this sequence, the arrangement of ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ is being made for the states’ workers working in other states . Easy bank loan is being provided under PM Swanidhi Yojana.
Vaccinations cross 50 crore mark
Prime Minister Modi said that during the Corona period, we made special efforts for the vaccine made in our country. It is a big achievement that the important milestone of administering 50 crore vaccines has been crossed in the country. We have to further increase our speed in vaccination.
Purchase Handicraft Products on Festivals
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Swadeshi Movement was started on August 7 in 1905. Handloom was dedicated on this day. It is necessary to encourage handicrafts, handloom and cloth workmanship. Prime Minister Modi stressed the need to encourage local products by taking some or the other handicrafts in festivals.
Vigilance needed for corona
Prime Minister Modi said that vigilance against Corona is necessary. Negligence towards Corona in the midst of the festivities in the coming days is not justified. Everyone will have to make efforts together to stop the third wave of Corona. Masks, vaccinations and maintaining a distance of two yards are essential. Prime Minister Modi said that we have to take a pledge for a healthy and prosperous India. Prime Minister Modi thanked the people of the state who had gathered at more than 25 thousand shops of the state.
If development does not reach the poor then it is meaningless – Chief Minister Chouhan
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of seven and a half crore people of the state, said that the country has developed in ten directions under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He has the resolve to build a glorious, magnificent, prosperous and thriving India. Development is meaningless unless the light of development reaches the poor, unless changes come in their lives. Prime Minister Modi made arrangements to provide food grains to the poor at affordable rates. It was ensured that ration for the whole month comes in one day's wages and the wages of the remaining days are available to the poor to improve their standard of living. Food grains are being provided at nominal rates to 4 crore 90 lakh people of 1 crore 15 lakh families of the state. This has been possible as a result of the grant of Rs. 7 thousand 441 crore by the Prime Minister Modi. As a result of the cooperation of Prime Minister Modi and his sensitivity towards the farmers, this year wheat at Rs. 1918 per quintal was purchased.
No poor will remain without a pucca roof by 2024 in the state
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Prime Minister Modi made arrangements to help the poor in the first wave of Corona. In the second wave he ensured to provide free food grains. Chief Minister Chouhan thanked Prime Minister Modi for providing subsidy of 32 thousand 204 crore to 26 lakh 27 thousand 899 families for construction of houses in rural areas in the state since 2016. 32 thousand 156 crores have been provided to the poor for 07 lakh 37 thousand 616 houses in urban areas. Chief Minister Chouhan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, it is our resolve that by the year 2024, no poor in the state will remain without a pucca roof.
Bhojan Bhi, Jeevan Bhi, Samman Bhi - Dhanyawad Modi ji
Chief Minister Chouhan while expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi with the words of Bhojan Bhi, Jeevan Bhi, Samman Bhi – Dhanyawad Modi ji said that Ayushman cards of two and half crore people have been made in the state. Now the treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh will be provided free of cost in the contracted hospitals identified by the government. In the crisis of Corona, wages worth Rs 8 thousand 844 crore for 13 thousand 163 works were directly deposited in the accounts of workers as MNREGA wages. Amount of 332 crores was made available by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for restarting business to 3 lakh 32 thousand people who work on footpaths and hand carts. We are blessed and proud to have such a Prime Minister.
In the crisis of floods, Prime Minister Modi kept calling twice a day to get information.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that during the crisis of recent floods, Prime Minister Modi kept getting information about the situation in the state twice a day over the phone. The assistance of Army, Air Force, BSF, NDRF was provided by him. Helicopters were made available to rescue the people. As a result of this cooperation, we were successful in saving the lives of 8 thousand 832 people. Several thousand people were evacuated safely. Chief Minister Chouhan thanked Prime Minister Modi for his sensitivity and cooperation towards the state.
Ministers of other states also participated in the programme
Ministers and MLAs of seven states also participated in the programme from different districts. Uttarakhand Food Minister Subodh Uniyal from Bhopal, Assam Minister Ranjit Kumar Das from Hoshangabad, Tripura Minister Pranjit Singha Roy from Sehore, Himachal Pradesh Minister Rajendra Garg from Raisen and Goa Minister Govind Gaude joined from Indore. Also, Arunachal Pradesh MLA Jigun Nam Chun from Raisen and Haryana MLA Satya Prakash Jarawata attended the programme from Dewas.
People of the state joined the programme virtually
