Bhopal 20 August 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the condition of roads in the state should not deteriorate. The work of repair and maintenance of roads should be done continuously. There should be no potholes on the roads, wherever the roads are bad, start repairing immediately. Any excuses in the work are not acceptable.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that short term and long term planning should be done for repair and maintenance of roads of all places of the state including Bhopal and work should be done readily. Expressing deep displeasure over potholes on many roads of Bhopal and not being repaired immediately, Chief Minister Chouhan directed to start the work immediately.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that four agencies PWD, Municipal Corporation, CPA and Bhopal Development Authority are doing the road work in Bhopal city. Due to the presence of more agencies, the work cannot be done quickly. There is no need for CPA (Capital Project Administration), so its work should be terminated immediately. Chief Minister Chouhan instructed Chief Secretary Bains to fix agencies for the work.
Chief Minister Chouhan was taking a meeting in Mantralaya today regarding the maintenance of the roads of Bhopal. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Neeraj Mandloi, Divisional Commissioner Bhopal Kavindra Kiyawat, Collector Bhopal Avinash Lavania and others were present.
Do restoration work along with construction
Chief Minister Chouhan said that public has to face inconvenience due to delay in restoration work by construction agencies during road, sewage works etc. Restoration work should be ensured along with the main work. Do not leave the road dug up.
92.5 km of city roads with Capital Project Administration
The capital project administration in Bhopal city has roads having a total length of 92.5 km. At present, the condition of the roads is worse due to the ongoing work of pipeline and sewerage in the Kolar Road area.
710 km main road near municipal corporation
The Municipal Corporation of Bhopal has 710 km of main roads of the city. Besides, there are internal routes. The Public Works Department has a total of 400 km of roads, including 13 major roads and 25 colony routes – Window to News
