Sikh Samaj delegation calls on Chief Minister Chouhan
Bhopal 24 August 2021: A delegation of Sikh society met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Mantralaya today. New and Renewable Energy Minister Hardeep Singh Dang, Public Health and Engineering Minister Brijendra Singh Yadav, MLA Jajpal Singh Jajji were also present in the delegation. Chief Minister Chouhan was invited by the delegation for the 400-year-old world-class centenary celebration programme of Gurdwara Data Bandi Chhod Gwalior to be organised in Gwalior from October 4 to 6. On this occasion, information about the service works conducted by the Sikh community was also given.
The delegation made a proposal regarding starting an educational institution on the land of Gurudwara at Tekanpur in Gwalior. According to this, the Sikh society will cooperate in the establishment of the educational institution. Chief Minister Chouhan said that life becomes meaningful only through service works. The service work of Sikh society is commendable. These efforts will be encouraged by the government and full cooperation will be provided.

Ceremony background
Many incidents of history are associated with the Gurdwara Data Bandi Chhod located on the Gwalior Fort. The sixth Patshahi Guru Hargovind Sahib Ji set free 52 Rajput kings from the captivity of the then emperor Jehangir. On the completion of 400 years of this event, as per the orders of Akal Takht Sahib Amritsar, Baba Sewa Singh, Kar Sewa Khadur Sahib Ji Gurdwara Data Bandi Chhod fort Gwalior, in collaboration with the Samuh Sikh Sangat, have prepared the outline of a world-class ceremony. In this, apart from Guru Nanak Naam Leva Sangat from other countries of the world, great men of Sikh society and saints of other societies will also be present. The centenary celebrations will be for three days.
Punjabi Sahitya Academy starts preparations for the ceremony
Director of Punjabi Sahitya Academy of Culture Department, Neeru Singh Giani said that the preparations for the function have been started by the Academy.
