Sanskrit Week will be organised every year in schools: CM Chouhan

Bhopal 25 August 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the State Government is making every effort to make Sanskrit language common and known to the masses. The people and institutions who are working for Sanskrit will now be given protection and work will be done by the state government for the expansion of their efforts. It is only through Sanskrit that the accumulated knowledge of Indian culture can be passed on to the next generation. Sanskrit Week will be organised every year in all the schools of the state.

Activities organised in all the schools of the state under Sanskrit Week

Chief Minister Chouhan was virtually addressing the concluding programme of Sanskrit Week from his residence today. Minister of State for School Education Inder Singh Parmar virtually attended The Programme. Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan President Bharat Bairagi, Area Organisation Secretary of Sanskrit Bharti Pramod Pandit, State Organisation Secretary Neeraj Dixit, State President Dr. Ashok Bhadauria along with Director of Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan Prabhat Raj Tiwari and functionaries of Sanskrit Bharti participated the cancluding programme. As many as 2175 schools were connected with the virtual programme. Under the Sanskrit week, yoga activities and Sanskrit based competitions are being organised in all the schools of the state from August 18 in all 52 districts of the state.

Ujjain and Omkareshwar have been centres of Sanskrit learning

Chief Minister Chouhan said that from the very beginning, our state has been revered as the best study centre of Sanskrit knowledge tradition. Ujjain and Omkareshwar have been centres of Sanskrit learning. That is why the first Jagadguru Krishna and the second Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya came to Ujjain and Omkareshwar respectively to receive education. Therefore, the responsibility of the state increases for the education and expansion of Sanskrit language. The state government will make every effort for the expansion of Sanskrit by connecting saints and institutions working for Sanskrit.

Scientific study of Vedas done by many countries

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Sanskrit is an ancient and great language. This is the basis of our culture, because all our texts are in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is also the mother of all languages. Vedas are not only knowledge but also a treasure trove of science, craft, skill, spirituality, which we cannot understand without Sanskrit. Many countries have done scientific study of Vedas and have also made achievements in the field of science.

It is necessary to connect the coming generation with Sanskrit

Chief Minister Chouhan said that we are forgetting our tradition and culture under the influence of the West. In such a situation, organising Sanskrit Week will be helpful in making Sanskrit universal and introducing it to the next generation. It is essential for the continuation of our knowledge tradition. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Yoga Se Nirog Programme and Devarnya Yojana will prove helpful in connecting the coming generation with their culture and roots.

Programme focused on Sanskrit held at Chief Minister's residence

In the programme, the President of Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan Bharat Bairagi informed about the activities conducted by the institute.
