Block-wise action plan must to check Naxalite activities: CM Chouhan

CM takes meeting on development of Balaghat district and eradication of Naxals
 
Bhopal 29 August 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that separate block-wise action plans should be prepared for the development of Balaghat district and to check Naxal activities. Not only will this accelerate development works but employment opportunities can be made available to the local youth. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing a meeting of public representatives and officers at Balaghat today.  

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the police personnel have done a good job in checking Naxal activities. Special recruitment is being considered for police and other departments in the district. Out-of-turn promotions are being given to jawans who risked their lives to eradicae Naxalites. Special attention should be given to road connectivity, irrigation and employment in the villages of Naxal-affected blocks. Forest rights should be given to the eligible people on priority. The state government will ensure that there is no lack of funds for development works in Balaghat district. Ministers, public representatives, senior officers including Director General of Police were present in the programme.

Interaction with entrepreneurs on investment

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a discussion with entrepreneurs on investment in Balaghat district. He told that he had virtually participated in the Investors Meet held in Balaghat recently. Proposals for investment of about Rs 4500 crore have been received in this meet. This is likely to provide employment to 10 thousand people in the district. Entrepreneurs have shown interest in setting up bio fuel ethanol unit and ferro manganese unit in Balaghat district.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that without investment employment and development is not possible. If investment is made in industries, it will provide employment opportunities for the local people. There is abundance of natural forest and mineral wealth in Balaghat district and paddy production here is very high compared to the number of godowns to store it. Setting up of ethanol based industries in the district, will also help in solving the problem of godowns to store paddy apart from benefitting farmers. Chief Minister Chouhan urged the entrepreneurs to come forward to set up enterprises based on the resources available in the district and assured of all possible assistance by the state government. Along with providing land for industries, arrangements for roads, electricity will also be made.

Statue of Mahatma Gandhi unveiled

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan unveiled the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in the Collectorate premises during his stay at Balaghat. He also honoured the artist Sunil who carved the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with a shawl.

Foundation of development works laid and dedicated
