Denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes have equal rights over State’s resources : CM Chouhan

 Bhopal 31 August 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that tribals have equal rights over all the resources of the state. The state government is committed to ensure that this community develops and plays an equal role in the development of the state. All necessary efforts will be made for the social, educational and economic development of these tribes. In this sequence, seats will be reserved for the students of these tribes in Shramodaya Vidyalayas, Gramodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Vidyalayas. Space will be reserved for these students in the hostels also. A museum will be set up to preserve the tradition, culture and life values​​of the Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic tribes.

On the occasion of Denotifed Tribes Day, Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic Tribes Panchayat at the Chief Minister’s residence today. Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare and Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes Ram Khelawan Patel presided over the programme. Khajuraho MP V.D. Sharma, BJP Organization Secretary Suhas Bhagat and senior citizens and representatives of Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic tribes tribes were present. Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the Panchayat by performing kanya-pujan and lighting the lamp.

August 31 will be observed as Liberation Day

Chief Minister Chouhan said that August 31 would be celebrated as Tribal Liberation Day in the state every year. A separate department was formed in 2011 for the welfare of denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic classes in the state. Expanding this initiative considering the suffering of these tribes cut off from the main stream of development for years, a Ministry of Nomads and Semi Nomads will be formed for the overall welfare of the tribes.

After taking admission in one school, children can take admission in school elsewhere also if place changes

Chief Minister Chouhan administered oath to all the people present in the Panchayat to send their children to school and educate them. Chouhan said that keeping in view the situation and tradition of tribes moving from one place to another, arrangements are being made that their children can be admitted to any school on the basis of admission in the school they were earlier in. Parents who want to be on the move alongwith their children, can seek admission in government schools in the places they have moved to. Fees of the meritorious children of these tribes who will take admission in medical and engineering colleges, will be paid by the state government.

Process of recruitment to one lakh government posts in the state to begin shortly

Chief Minister Chouhan said that economic empowerment is necessary for progress. Necessary training will be provided to the youth of these tribes for the examinations of all the recruitments in government service. In a few days, the process of recruitment about one lakh government posts is going to begin in the state. Along with this, arrangements are being made to provide bank loan facility to youth for self-employment schemes. The interest on the loans will be paid by the state government. Those tribals who are proficient in art skills will be given training in ITI. Loan facility will also be made available to such persons from the bank for livelihood. Self-help groups will be specially formed for the economic empowerment of women.

Residential pattas will be made available at suitable locations

Chief Minister Chouhan said that necessary action would be taken after conducting a survey to declare Vimukt, Ghumkkad and semi-nomadic tribes as revenue villages. A special campaign will be launched to provide housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. We will endeavour to ensure that no person from these communities remains shelterless. Residential pattas will be provided to every person at suitable locations.

Ayushman card for treatment

Chief Minister Chouhan said that arrangements for treatment are being made by the state government. Ayushman card is being provided to every person, so that free treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh can be availed by them in identified private medical hospitals.

I-cards to Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic tribe labourers

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the police from now on will mention only the name of the concerned person while registering a crime. The caste of the person will not be mentioned. Identity cards will be made for the migrant labourers and hawkers of Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic tribes.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that a special committee presided over by the District Collector would be constituted for better operation and review of schemes for the development and welfare of these tribes at the district level. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the original caste would be mentioned in the certificates of Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic tribes.

Panchayat of nomadic tribes a historic step

Minister Ram Khelavan Patel thanked Chief Minister Chouhan for organizing the Panchayat on behalf of 51 tribes. Referring to the historical repression of these tribes, Minister Patel informed about the schemes being run by the state government for the welfare of the nomadic castes. He said that the panchayat of nomadic tribes is a historic step.

CM House becomes center for welfare of the poor

MP V.D. Sharma said that as a result of Chief Minister Chouhan calling the deprived, exploited people and victims to the CM House and organizing a Panchayat to listen to their woes, the CM House has become the center of welfare of the poor.
