100 pc vaccination of first dose should be completed by September 26: CM Chouhan

Bhopal 10 September 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that 100 pc vaccination of the first dose should be completed by September 26 in the state. Voter list should be made the basis for vaccination of all eligible persons. It must be ensured that information regarding people who have gone out of the village and wards in connection with employment should be recorded and the first dose of vaccine is administered to all the remaining persons. Chief Minister Chouhan said that a special awareness campaign would be launched to spread information about the measures to prevent dengue to the people. Chief Minister Chouhan himself will participate in dengue prevention and control activities like fogging, larvae destruction, emptying of water logging in this campaign against dengue between 10 am to 10:30 am on September 15.

Chief Minister Chouhan was holding virtual discussions with the collectors of the districts affected by dengue and having less percentage of vaccinations through video conferencing today. Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Prabhuram Choudhary, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Health Mohammad Salman and Health Commissioner Akash Tripathi were present in the meeting held at the CM’s residence.

Collectors of 17 districts asked for cause for less vaccination

Chief Minister Chouhan had a discussion with collectors of districts with less than 70 percent vaccination including Satna, Sheopur, Bhind, Dhar, Rewa, Sidhi, Khargone, Mandla, Morena, Katni, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Shivpuri, Singrauli, Barwani, Alirajpur and Betul districts regarding the causes for low percentage of vaccination. Satna Collector said that the vaccine doses are sufficient but due to less availability of syringes, vaccination work has been affected. Chhindwara Collector said that the speed of vaccination has been affected by festivals like Pola, Teej etc. The Betul collector said that heavy rains along with festivals have affected vaccination work. Also, vaccination has been postponed in some cases due to dengue and other seasonal fevers. Mandla Collector informed that forest department teams have also been deployed to speed up the vaccination campaign. It may be noted that so far 75 percent of eligible citizens have received the first dose and 17 percent of the citizens have received the second dose of the vaccine.

Ensure equal availability of doses and syringes

Chief Minister Chouhan directed that a vaccination campaign should be conducted in the entire state on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17. Efforts must be made that 100 percent eligible citizens of the state should get the first dose of the vaccine on September 17. Remaining vaccinations should be compulsorily ensured by 26 September. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the District Collector should ensure necessary arrangements up to village and ward level for vaccination of the differently-abled and senior citizens at their homes. Vaccines should be made available in all the districts as per the requirement and syringes should be provided to the districts in proportion to the vaccine doses. Vaccination should not be affected due to mismatch of dosage and syringe availability.

Public participation must for 100 pc vaccination

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Crisis Management Committees and public representatives should be involved in the campaign to ensure 100pc vaccination in the state. Vaccination is a campaign of the people, by the people for the people. This feeling is essential for 100 pc vaccination.

2200 cases of dengue in the state

Chief Minister Chouhan also held discussions with the collectors of districts of Mandsaur, Jabalpur, Ratlam, Agar-Malwa, Bhopal, Chhindwara and Indore most affected by dengue. It was informed in the meeting that there are 2200 cases of dengue in the state. Bhopal Collector informed that there are dengue cases in 11 wards of the city. Intensive fogging and larvae destruction are in progress for control. Fines are also being imposed for water logging in homes. In the meeting, the collectors of the districts informed that awareness campaigns and activities for prevention and control of dengue are being conducted. Necessary arrangements have also been made for treatment.

Attack on root cause of dengue must

Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is necessary to strike at the root cause of dengue. The public too must participate in taking precautions against spread of dengue by not allowing water stagnation, destruction of mosquito larvae, cleanliness activities etc. Dengue can be avoided by following awareness and necessary precautions. It should be our endeavor to ensure vigilance and awareness, to prevent dengue.

10 bedded ward for dengue patients in district hospitals

Chief Minister Chouhan said that urban bodies, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers should conduct larvae survey and fogging work intensively. Adequate arrangement of kits should be made for platelet testing. It was informed in the meeting that fever clinics are being operated for fever patients in all government hospitals.
