Bhopal 03 October 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lay the foundation stone of water supply schemes costing more than Rs 1566 crore 49 lakh under Jal-Jeevan Mission on October 4 at Chitrangi in Singrauli district under the Jan-Kalyan and Suraj Abhiyan. Chief Minister Chouhan will give the gift of development by laying the foundation stone and dedicating various works of the Public Works Department costing Rs. 39 crore. With these water-supply schemes, more than 3 lakh families of Singrauli, Chitrangi, Devsar of Singrauli district and Dhauhani in Sidhi district and areas of Sinhawal assembly constituencies will be provided water through tap connections. In this sequence, foundation stone of water supply schemes costing Rs 197 crore 6 lakh will also be laid in 200 villages of Rewa division. From these, drinking water will be provided to 94 thousand 214 families through domestic tap connections. Work is being started on these water supply schemes by surveying and estimating on the basis of the population projection for the next 30 years.
In order to provide tap water to the entire rural population of the state, the implementation of water supply schemes in Jal Jeevan Mission is going on continuously. In the foundation stone laying programme of these water supply schemes, works costing Rs 33 crore 98 lakh have been included for providing water through tap connections to 1428 schools and 960 Anganwadi centres.
About 11 lakh population will be benefitted from these water supply schemes built for about 700 villages of Singrauli and Sidhi districts. 183 villages of Baidhan and 100 villages of Chitrangi have been included in Baidhan-one water supply scheme built from water source of Rihand dam, 184 villages in Baidhan-two water supply scheme from water source of Son river and 206 villages have been included in the Gond Devsar water supply scheme from water source of Gond dam.
Chief Minister Chouhan will lay the foundation stone for four road construction works under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna costing Rs 20 crore 55 lakh and building construction works of Public Works Department PIU costing Rs one crore 15 lakh.
Chief Minister Chouhan will dedicate four buildings costing Rs 17 crore 26 lakh 37 thousand in Chitrangi. These include District Education and Training Institute building Baidhan, Government College building Sarai, Jagannath Singh Memorial College building Chitrangi and Government Higher Secondary School building Vardi. Chief Minister Chouhan will also visit the exhibition of products of self-help groups and Jal-Jeevan Mission.
Minister of Minerals and Labour and Minister in-charge of Singrauli district Brijendra Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Public Health Engineering Brijendra Singh Yadav, Member of Parliament Smt. Riti Pathak, MLAs and public representatives will be present at the ceremony – Window to News
