Bhopal 05 November 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Govardhan Puja is not just a ritual. It means worshipping nature, saving the environment, planting trees and preventing the cutting of trees. He said that I bow to Kanhaiya, who gave us the mantra more then five thousand years ago that worship nature and the mountains, this is Govardhan Puja in the true sense. If you want to save the earth, then be alert from now on.
Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing volunteers programme in Ankur Abhiyan after performing Govardhan Puja in Ujjain today. Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, MPs VD Sharma and Firazia were present. Chief Minister Chouhan duly offered prayers at Mahakal temple and attended Govardhan Puja near Triveni Museum.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the speech given by the glorious Prime Minister Narendra Modi today from the holy land of Baba Kedarnath is not just a speech but a great campaign of national reawakening. Swami Vivekananda once said that those who are blind cannot see, those who are deaf cannot hear, but I am clearly seeing that the end of the great destruction is near. Mother India is once again opening her eyes. A glorious, splendid, prosperous and thriving India will be built and the 21st century will belong to India. What the first Narendra Swami Vivekananda had said, today the second Narendra is fulfilling it.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that G-20 people are now saying that we are troubled in this world. The temperature of the Earth's surface is increasing. It is feared that if the temperature continues to rise like this and the emission of carbon gases continues, then many cities will be submerged in water after a few years and destruction will increase in the world. Chief Minister Chouhan said that we all have to think whether to let this earth be safe for life or not, is it not the right of the coming generations on this earth. It becomes our responsibility to leave a safe earth for the coming generations. We have to join the campaign to save the earth. Therefore, Ankur Abhiyan has been started in the state.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that on the day of Govardhan Puja, I call upon the people of the state to plant trees to save lives and ensure their participation in saving trees. The Chief Minister said that I plant a tree every day. If you cannot plant a tree every day like me, then on special occasions you can plant a tree a year. Memories can be kept fresh by planting saplings on wedding anniversaries, birthdays of sons and daughters and on the death anniversaries of mothers and fathers. Chief Minister Chouhan said that if both husband and wife together plant a tree on the anniversary of marriage, then the joy of the anniversary will increase manifold. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Ankur Abhiyan is a holy campaign to save the earth. This is also the message of Govardhan Puja. Lord Krishna also gave the same message that... "Don't just worship, save nature, save trees, save environment".
Chief Minister Chouhan said that in our Matsya Puran it has been said that-Dashkupasamavapi Dashvapi Samo Hradah. Dashahradasamah Putro Dashpatrasamo Drumah. That is, one bavadi (step-well) is equal to 10 wells, one pond is equal to 10 bavadis, one son is equal to 10 ponds and one tree is equal to 10 sons. This is India's message to the world, what can be a greater respect for the environment than this. Therefore, on the occasion of Govardhan Puja, I call upon eight and a half crore people of the state to plant trees. He said that if children are left out, then 5 crore people can plant trees. If a person plants one tree at a time, then 5 crore trees and if they planted 2 trees each, then 10 crore trees can be planted in a year, which will do important work in saving the earth. This work cannot be done by the government alone. Society has to be a participant in this. For this purpose, we started Ankur Abhiyan in the state on June 5, Environment Day.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that I am happy to say that 2 lakh 97 thousand citizens have registered on Vayudoot App for Ankur Abhiyan and so far 4 lakh 36 thousand saplings have been planted and their photos have been uploaded on the app. There is a need to move more rapidly in this direction. The Chief Minister said that people from the friendly community of the Jan-Abhiyan Parishad should also be involved in this work. Our aim is not only to plant trees but also to protect them. Chief Minister Chouhan said that we have decided that friends associated with Ankur Abhiyan will be honoured with the title of "Vriksha Veer and Vriksha Veerangana" and "Pranvayu Award".
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put India's goals to save the environment in front of the world at the Glasgow Conference. He has prescribed Panchamrit for India. India will increase its non-fossil energy capacity to 500 gigawatt by 2030 and will supply 50% of its energy from renewable energy. Besides, it will also reduce total projected carbon emissions by one billion tonnes, reducing the carbon intensity of its economy to less than even 45 percent. By the year 2070, India will achieve the target of Net Zero Carbon.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that this campaign of Prime Minister Modi ji is commendable and Madhya Pradesh is determined to join this campaign. I have taken some decisions on behalf of the Madhya Pradesh government to fulfill these goals. The Chief Minister said that in the last 10 years, we have increased the installed capacity of renewable projects 10 times from 500 megawatt to 5400 megawatt. Not one but many solar power plants have been established. Delhi's train is being run by solar energy being made in Madhya Pradesh. Giving information about the solar plants and the plants being set up so far in the state, Chief Minister Chouhan said that a wonderful experiment of the world is being done by laying solar panels in Omkareshwar dam.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that this is a matter related to Govardhan Puja. The residents of the state can now set up their individual and group solar power plants. For this, the state government will cooperate with them and will also purchase their surplus electricity. The Chief Minister said that our government is giving a subsidy of Rs 21 thousand crore for cheap electricity. We take 3 thousand rupees from farmers and give electricity of 51 thousand rupees. The government pays a subsidy of about 6 thousand crore rupees on the electricity being given to the poor. The Chief Minister also appealed to the people of the state not to use electricity unnecessarily and save electricity.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Prime Minister Modi has reduced the rates of diesel and petrol. Madhya Pradesh government has also made diesel and petrol cheaper in public interest.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that work is being done to beautify the city of Mahakal culturally. One day before Mahashivratri, the residents of Ujjain together will make wonderful decorations of the city of Mahakal Maharaj and lamp garlands will be set up. On the day of Mahashivratri, Shivji will be married to Maa Gauri in a unique and wonderful way – Window to News
