Review meeting of SC, ST and OBC scholarship process held
Bhopal 08 November 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the payment of scholarship to SC, ST and OBC students should be done only through the scholarship portal. In no case should scholarship be given without the portal. Discrepancies related to scholarship should be removed to make way for uniformity. Chief Minister Chouhan gave these instructions in a review meeting held in Mantralaya for the uniformity of SC, ST and OBC scholarship process and portal. Tribal Affairs, Scheduled Castes Welfare Minister Sushri Meena Singh, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Scheduled Castes Welfare and Tribal Affairs Pallavi Jain Govil and officers of concerned departments were present.
Irregularities in scholarship distribution will not be tolerated
Chief Minister Chouhan said that any irregularities in the distribution of scholarships will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against persons and institutions involved in irregularities. Distribution of scholarships should be ensured in a rational manner. There should be no hindrance in the education of the children.
Make better use of technology
Chief Minister Chouhan told to ensure better use of technology. Today we have the technology, from which there is no possibility of any kind of irregularities. He directed officials to investigate problems related to scholarship and ensure that there is no irregularity. If the scholarship has been paid irregularly, action should be taken for its recovery. The process of scholarship approval and payment should be made transparent and simple.
Scholarship should not be given without admission
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the concerned departments should ensure a transparent system for the admission of students. Do not give scholarship without the admission process. The students who are given admission by following the prescribed procedure, should be provided scholarship. The prescribed calendar made for the scholarship should be ensured. He also gave instructions regarding rationalization of scholarship rates. Chief Minister Chouhan said that various fees of colleges should be taken as per rules.
