Chief Minister Chouhan reviewed revenue receipts for the year 2021-22
Bhopal 10 November 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the works of development and public welfare in the state are possible only through collection of revenue. Therefore, the departments engaged in revenue collection have a significant contribution in the development of the state. Every effort should be made to increase revenue collection without putting much burden on the people of the state. By expanding the ambit of tax to more people, we can increase revenue collection. Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is necessary to develop the tendency of taking bills for the purchased items among the people. There should be a feeling among the general public that by taking the bill, the state government gets revenue, which is useful for development and public welfare. Therefore, we are contributing to the development of the state by taking the bill.
Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the revenue receipts for the year 2021-22 in Mantralaya. Commercial Taxes, Finance, Planning, Economics and Statistics Minister Jagdish Deora, Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, Revenue Minister Govind Singh Rajput, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Finance Manoj Govil were present in the meeting. Other departmental officers virtually participated in the meeting.
Improve GST collection using digital technology and data analytics
Chief Minister Chouhan directed to make all the auctions of the Forest Department online from December 01. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the auction process of mineral blocks in the state should be completed soon. If necessary, speed up the work by talking to the relevant departments of the Government of India. The GST collection should also be improved in the state using digital technology and data analytics. Chief Minister Chouhan directed to present the new excise policy and heritage wine policy soon. It was informed in the meeting that as a result of short supply of new vehicles, sale of vehicles has come down, which has resulted in reduction in the revenue coming from transportation. With the increase in the supply of vehicles, there is a possibility of achieving revenue as per the target set.
