Bhopal 10 November 2021: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approval given by the Union Cabinet to declare 15th November, the anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, as Tribal Pride Day. Chief Minister Chouhan has said that this is a true tribute to the tribal freedom fighters of the country. We are deeply grateful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the decision to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day, to write the contribution made by the tribal society in the freedom struggle in golden letters in history and to keep its memory preserved in the minds of the coming generation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Tribal Pride Day to be organised in Bhopal on November 15 and will launch various schemes related to tribal welfare. The Madhya Pradesh government had first decided to celebrate this day as Tribal Pride Day. Now this day will be celebrated every year across India, which will recognise the efforts of the tribes to preserve the tribal cultural heritage, promote the Indian values ​​of valour, hospitality and national pride.

Chief Minister Chouhan has said that Tribal Pride Day is dedicated to the memory of the brave tribal freedom fighters so that the coming generations can learn about their sacrifices towards the country. India's freedom struggle was strengthened through various movements by several tribal communities like Santhals, Tamars, Kol, Bhil, Khasi and Mizo. The revolutionary movements and struggles of the tribal communities are known for their immense courage and supreme sacrifice.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Birsa Munda is worshipped as The God by the tribal communities of the country. Birsa Munda fought valiantly against the exploitative system of the British colonial system and led the movement against British repression by calling for 'ulgulan' (revolution).
