Chief Minister Chouhan digitally releases film "Ulgulan - Ek Kranti"

Bhagwan Birsa Munda had announced the Ulgulan Revolution
The film is centered on the struggle by Birsa Munda for freedom of India, protection of tribal religion, culture and water-forest-land
 
Bhopal 13 November 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan digitally released the feature film "Ulgulan - Ek Kranti" today. Digitally released on the portal of Public Relations Department by Chief Minister Chouhan. Famous actor Nitish Bhardwaj, film's producer, director Ashok Sharan, Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Sudam Khade were present in the programme organised at the residence. Ashok Sharan has produced about 200 short films on tribal life.

The film has been shot in Lord Birsa Munda's Karma Kshetra (work place) Khunti, Jharkhand. Madhya Pradesh is the first state, which is releasing this film digitally. The writer of the film is Padma Bhushan and former Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Kadiya Munda. It will be an honour for the tribes of India that they will be able to see and understand the life of Lord Birsa Munda through this film. It is worth mentioning that November 15, the birthday of Lord Birsa Munda, is being celebrated as Janjati Gaurav diwas in the state since last year.

The film's producer-director Ashok Sharan told that Birsa Munda had announced the first Ulgulan i.e. revolution on 24-25 December 1898. "Ulgulan - Ek Kranti", a feature film based on the life of Lord Birsa Munda, has been made in 35mm cinema scope Dolby Digital sound. The film is made including the famous artists of Bollywood.

Ashok Sharan told that Birsa Munda was born in the year 1875 in Ulihatu, Khunti, Jharkhand. Birsa Munda fought for the independence of India and for the protection of tribal religion and culture. On 9 January 1899, under his leadership, there was a battle with the British on the mountains of Sayilrakab, Khunti. After that a reward of Rs 500 was kept for arresting Birsa Munda at that time. In the greed of money, seven people of the same place, sleeping in the forest, arrested Birsa Munda and handed him over to the British. He died on 9 June 1900 in the Ranchi Central Jail due to poisoning by the British. Birsa Munda could not even complete the age of 25. As a result of the sacrifice of Birsa Munda and the resolve to protect the water-jungle-land, he was considered as the Birsa God – Window to News
