Bhopal 13 November 2021: The representatives of Gond community came to the Chief Minister's residence today and felicitated Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The Gond community welcomed and felicitated Chief Minister Chouhan by offering a huge floral garland for the efforts to make the memory of Rani Kamlapati everlasting. Slogans of ‘Rani Kamlapati amar rahe’ (May Rani Kamlapati be immortal) and ‘Rani tera ye balidan yad rakhega Hindustan’ (India will always remember this sacrifice of the queen), ‘Birsa Bhagwan ki jai’ (Hail Lord Birsa) also reverberated in chorus at the Chief Minister's residence.
In response to his felicitation, Chief Minister Chouhan has said that the martyrdom of Rani Kamalapati is remembered even today in Bhopal and surrounding areas. It is said that there has never been a queen like Rani Kamlapati. It is certainly a matter of joy that a concrete initiative has been taken to make the memory of Queen Kamlapati permanent. There was a time when the kingdom of Queen Kamlapati was usurped by Dost Mohammad by deceit and fraud. The Ginnorgarh Fort and Bhopal's Rani Kamlapati Mahal are symbols of the queen's legacy. The name of the Rani will always be immortal. The Madhya Pradesh government will make permanent the memory of all the tribal heroes including Rani Kamalapati of the Gond community.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that in this sequence, Janjati Gaurav Diwas is going to be held in Bhopal on Monday, November 15. The Prime Minister Modi will attend this function. The Prime Minister has taken a historic decision to celebrate Janjati Gaurav Diwas across the country. Chief Minister Chouhan said that an initiative has been taken to change the name of the railway station popularly known as Habibganj to Rani Kamlapati station. It is indeed a matter of great joy and satisfaction. This world class railway station has been built which will remain in the name of Rani Kamlapati. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the works of Rani Kamlapati are memorable. She worked in the field of water management. Many temples were also built. People have forgotten her contribution. In order to make the memory of Rani Kamlapati everlasting, the protection and development of Rani Kamlapati Palace in Bhopal will also be done. This will be the true tribute to Rani Kamlapati.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that tribal traditions will be strengthened in Madhya Pradesh. Before the initiative of naming the railway station after Rani Kamlapati, her grand statue was also installed in Bhopal near the arch bridge on the Lower Lake. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the Rani Kamlapati Palace located here would also be protected. Prime Minister Modi has called upon the entire country to celebrate the anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as Janjati Gaurav Diwas. The main programme is being held in Bhopal itself.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that a miniature statue of Rani Kamlapati would be presented to the Prime Minister in the programme of the railway station. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Ginnorgarh Fort is a symbol of the legacy of Rani Kamlapati.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Rani Kamlapati had protected her honour by taking a Jal Samadhi in Lower Lake. Her son Naval Shah was assassinated by outside invaders. A school in Lalghati area has also been named in the memory of Naval Shah.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that 14 important announcements of tribal development were made in the programme organised in memory of tribal heroes Raghunath Shah and Shankar Shah in Jabalpur.
Work will be done to implement them from November 15 in the form of decision. This Tribal Pride Day celebration is not just a function but a campaign to change the lives of the tribal people.
