Bhopal 14 November 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the State Government will leave no stone unturned in making tribal brothers and sisters empowered and for their development. Raja Sangram Shah Award will be given annually for the best work in the field of tribal art and culture. The award will carry an amount of Rs. 5 lakh. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Raja Sangram Shah ruled 52 bastions of the tribal community. Chief Minister Chouhan was interacting with the tribal art community after dedicating the newly constructed Gallery of Tribal Heroes at the Tribal Museum.
Legacy of tribal community is full of valour and sacrifice
Welcoming the tribal artists to Bhopal, Chief Minister Chouhan said that today Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh are painted in tribal colours. Our culture, art, dance traditions are amazing. Tribal society lives life in its joy and fun, this is the speciality of this society. You people have come on Bhopal Janjatiya Gourav Diwas. Bhopal Janjatiya Gourav Diwas means we are warriors too. Tribal heroes have offered even the last drop of their blood to cut the shackles of slavery from the feet of Mother India. Many warriors like Birsa Bhagwan, Tantya Mama, Raja Raghunath Shah-Shankar Shah, Bhima Nayak challenged the British. Tribal heroes filled fear in the minds of the British. Our legacy is full of valour and sacrifice. The contribution of Raja Sangram Shah, Dalpat Shah, Rani Durgavati and Rani Kamalapati of Bhopal cannot be forgotten.
We cannot forget the sacrifice of Rani Kamlapati
Chief Minister Chouhan said that this entire area was Gondwana. From Ginnorgarh to Garha Mandla was the kingdom of the Gonds. The tribal community used to have 52 bastions. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Nizam Shah used to rule in Ginnorgarh. His wife's name was Kamlapati. Outside commander Dost Mohammad conquered this region by deceit and treachery. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Rani Kamlapati was expert in water management, she had constructed many stepwells, parks, temples, ponds etc. She was particularly sensitive to the problems of the people. Rani's son Naval Shah fought at Lal Ghati at the age of 14. When Nawal Shah was defeated, killed in battle and the queen got the idea that she could no longer win, she took water samadhi in the Lower Lake to protect her honour. Jal Jauhar was committed by Rani Kamlapati. Chief Minister Chouhan said that we cannot forget the sacrifice of Rani Kamlapati. She gave her life for the honour. Rani Kamlapati did not allow the outside invaders to capture her kingdom while she won.
Tribal warriors forgotten
Chief Minister Chouhan said that history had forgotten Rani Kamlapati. Tribal warriors were forgotten. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Chouhan said that Habibganj railway station has been named after Rani Kamalapati on his initiative. Prime Minister Modi has accepted the proposal sent by the State Government. We are grateful to them. Prime Minister Modi immortalized the name of Rani Kamlapati.
Memorials of tribal warriors being set up
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the university built in Chhindwara has been named Shankar Shah-Raghunath Shah University. Memorials are being set up for all our tribal warriors. A memorial of Tantya Mama has been established in Khandwa district, Bhima Nayak in Barwani district. A memorial is being established in Jabalpur in the name of Raghunath Shah-Shankar Shah. Tribal Museum is coming up in Chhindwara. Chief Minister Chouhan said that all the traditions and culture of the tribal community have been kept in the Tribal Museum built in Bhopal.
It is necessary to encourage tribal art, culture, traditions
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Janjatiya Gourav Diwas is being celebrated on the initiative of Prime Minister Modi. It is an occasion to pay homage to the tribal heroes. Our art, culture and traditions should also be encouraged. Tribal pride day has also been organized to encourage them. Tribal Pride Day is a campaign to transform tribal life.

Addressing the tribal brothers and sisters, Chief Minister Chouhan said that this earth, state, country is yours, water, land, forest are yours. Chief Minister Chouhan said that many schemes are being run for this, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of the society will study and grow. In the tribal development blocks, all arrangements are being made whether it is the matter of ration or the education of the children. While motivating the tribal students, Chief Minister Chouhan said that along with colouring in the colours of the festival, pay attention to studies. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Tribal Gourav Diwas is a campaign for economic, social and educational empowerment of tribal brothers and sisters. This day will prove to be a milestone. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the state government would pave the way for the progress of tribal society by making arrangements for bread, clothes, house, medicine, education and employment along with all other arrangements from road, water, electricity. Chief Minister was welcomed as per tribal tradition
On the arrival of Chief Minister Chouhan at the Tribal Museum, the tribal communities welcomed Chief Minister Chouhan as per their tradition. On behalf of the Baiga community, Dayaram Gadoliya welcomed Chief Minister Chouhan by offering a turban and a garland of biran grass, Budha Sen Kol of the Kol community by presenting a jacket, Bhariya community by presenting a Gofan, Gond community by offering a mandala, Korku community by wearing a bracelet in the arm, Bhil community by presenting arrows and bows, Sahariya community by offering iron crown and Thatya community welcomed by presenting Nandi made of Bharewa craft.
The Chief Minister swayed on the beat and rhythm
Chief Minister Chouhan took part in the programme ecstatically and musically while dancing to the beat and rhythm with the tribal communities effortlessly and calmly. He appeared to be part of the colourful tribal culture. Chief Minister Chouhan, along with tribal brothers and sisters, hailed the names of Bharat Mata and Birsa Bhagwan, Tantya Mama, Raja Raghunath Shah-Shankar Shah, Rani Durgavati, Raja Sangram Shah, Rani Kamalapati.
Chief Minister Chouhan said - "You are happy, then your Mama is happy".
In a conversation with Chief Minister Chouhan, Dayaram Gond of Baiga community, who came from Dindori, said that Kondai is being provided from the government shop. There is also provision for gas and accommodation. Similarly, Buddha Sen Kol of the Kol community, who came from Sidhi, told that adequate roads have been constructed in the area and the movement is smooth. Motilal Dolia, a representative of Bharia community who came from Patalkot in Chhindwara, said that "all is well now". The representatives of the Gond community were happy that arrangements were made for the education of the daughters. Roop Singh Kushram of Gond community who came from Dindori said that we are grateful to you for getting everyone vaccinated. Kushram expressed his happiness over naming Habibganj railway station after Rani Kamalapati of Gond community. The team led by Santosh of the Sahariya community performed the song “Hamare Dwar Mein Atithi Aaye”. In a conversation with Kailash Sisodia of Bhil community, who came from the Bagh area of Dhar, Chief Minister Chouhan said that "Aap Khush to Mama Khush".
