Bhopal 15 November 2021: The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi said that the railway station of Bhopal has not only been rejuvenated, but glory has been added to the railway station by naming it after Rani Kamalapati, as it is linked to the pride of the entire tribal community specially the Gond community. He said that today is a glorious day of history not only of Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh but the nation. Today the whole country is celebrating Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Jayanty. It is a matter of pride for us to inaugurate rejuvenated world-class Rani Kamalapati Railway Station on this occasion. He was inaugurating the renovated world class Rani Kamalapati Railway Station in Bhopal.
Four projects dedicated to the nation and two MEMU trains launched
Prime Minister Modi dedicated four railway projects to the nation on this occasion. These include gauge converted and electrified Ujjain-Fatehabad, Chandravatiganj broad gauge rail section, tripling of Bhopal-Barkheda railway section, gauge converted and electrified Mathila Nimarkhedi broad gauge rail section and electrified Guna-Gwalior railway section projects. He also virtually flagged off two MEMU trains Ujjain-Indore and Indore-Ujjain.
Better Facilities For People
Prime Minister Modi said that with the launch of these projects, the pressure on railways will be reduced and better facilities will be available to the people. Indian Railways is not only a medium to connect physical distances, but it is also becoming an important medium to connect the country's culture, tourism and pilgrimage. He said that good connectivity will be available for tourists. Thousands of pilgrims, traders and farmers who visit Mahakal and up-down will get direct benefit of the projects. He said that Indian Railways is setting a perfect example for providing state-of-the-art facilities. After so many decades of independence, the potential of Indian Railways is being harnessed at such a high degree. He said that Rani Kamalapati Railway Station is the first ISO certified railway station in the country developed on PPP model. The facilities which were once available to the passengers at the airport will be available at the railway station.
PM Gatishakti National Master Plan
Prime Minister Modi said that today's India is moving ahead under the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan. This master plan is giving unprecedented momentum to the development of the country. Better utilization of the country's resources is being ensured. PM Gati Shakti Master Plan is ensuring ease of living for the common people.
He said that many new projects in Railways are progressing at a fast pace under this plan. The same pace of work is being found in other projects. He said that more than 175 railway stations are being rejuvenated in the country. The capability of Indian Railways is being expanded in a big way. Earlier, even if the railway was used for tourism, it was confined to a premium club. For the first time, the common man is being given the divine experience of tourism and pilgrimage at a reasonable amount. The Ramayana Circuit Train is one such effort.
The places of Ramayana period are being visited through Ramayana Express. More similar trains will be run. Indian Railways is going to run 75 new trains in the coming two years in the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.
India is moving ahead with modern infrastructure
Prime Minister Modi said that better infrastructure is India's aspiration . Modern infrastructure is helping India move forward. If you want to see how India is changing, how dreams can come true, then Indian Railways is also becoming a good example of this. He said that till 6 years ago, the passengers travelling in Indian Railways were seen cursing due to the chaos of the railways. The discussions about railway station mess, food and drink disorder, lateness of trains, chaos in the passenger waiting room, etc. were common. People had given up even the hope of changing the situation, but when the country sincerely works towards fulfilling the resolutions, then improvement becomes definite and change occurs. If we have taken the initiative to provide modern services to the people, its results are also coming up. This is the real honour to the taxpayers.
Chief Minister Chouhan Elaborates PM's Vision
The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on behalf of the people of Madhya Pradesh extended greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the vision of the Prime Minister is that even a person wearing slipper can travel by air. The vision of Modi is leading the world. He said that our railway stations are also becoming like airports. Rani Kamalapati station is the first in the state and the second world-class railway station in the country.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Indian Railways have an important contribution in making India self-reliant. With the vision of Prime Minister Modi, India will be among the leading countries of the world. Modern technology is helping India to chase a new vision , new ideology and a proud place in the 21st century. He said that after the gigantic Lake, Bhopal will now also be known by Rani Kamalapati Station.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav presented the statue of Rani Kamalapati to the Prime Minister Modi. Governor Mangubhai Patel was present on the occasion.
A short film focusing on projects developed by Indian Railways was screened .The film illustrated the state-of-the-art facilities available at the station.
The total cost of the project to redevelop Rani Kamalapati Railway Station on PPP model is Rs 450 crore. This railway station is the first model station in the country to be built under public-private partnership. It will have a separate entry way and a separate exit. An air concourse has been built at the station, in which 700 passengers can sit together. All the five platforms are connected to this concourse through escalators and stairs.
Subway, Food Court, AC Lounge too
Around 1500 passengers will be able to pass through the underground sub-way of the station simultaneously. Two such sub-ways have been made in the station. Crowd pressure can also be reduced. Food restaurant, AC waiting room to retiring room and VIP lounge including dormitory have also been built at Rani Kamalapati railway station. Keeping in mind the security arrangements, around 160 CCTV cameras have also been installed at the station, which will keep a watch on the inside and outside of the station round the clock.
Visits Exhibition
The Prime Minister also took round of an exhibition of railways. The Union Minister for Railways Vaishnan explained to the Prime Minister about landmarks achieved – Window to News
