Entrepreneurs should have easy access to loans in self-employment schemes: CM Chouhan

Bhopal 15 November 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for helping the state out of the Covid crisis. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh also got enough support from the Atmanirbhar package of Rs 20 lakh crores during the Corona period. Chief Minister Chouhan said that it has become possible to vaccinate everyone free of cost in the state only as a result of the provision of more than Rs 35 thousand crores for Covid vaccine by the central government. Public Asset Management Department has been constituted for proper use and promotion of various government properties in the state. Work is being done by the state government to generate revenue through PPP projects. Chief Minister Chouhan was providing information in a virtual meeting on investment, infrastructure and economic growth with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Chief Minister Chouhan attended the meeting from the residence. Finance Minister Jagdish Deora and Principal Secretary Finance Manoj Govil were also present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that in order to provide additional financial assistance to the states doing four reforms in the time of Corona crisis, the loan limit has been increased from 3 percent to 5 percent of the state government’s GDP. It is a matter of joy that out of the four reforms, Madhya Pradesh has successfully completed three of the reforms 100 percent. These include One Nation-One Ration Card, ease of doing business and reforms in urban areas. The reforms in the power sector have been completed partially. Our state is one of the few states which have carried out more than three reforms. This has resulted in additional financial assistance to the state.

Chief Minister Chouhan also informed about the road map implemented by the state government for building an Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh towards realizing Prime Minister Modi's dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the main four pillars of the road map are physical infrastructure, good governance, education & health, economy & employment. In order to achieve these goals, schemes like setting up of CM Rise Schools, Devaranya Yojana, development of 13 MSME clusters, bank linkage of self-help groups, development of Atal Pragati Path and industrial corridor on both sides and Ek Zila Ek Utpad have been implemented.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that self-employment, small scale industries and business are important in the making of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. A target has been set to provide loans of Rs 2550 crores to more than 3 lakh women self-help groups working in the state. Mukhya Mantri Udyam Kranti Yojana is being launched by the state government to provide interest subsidy on loans to young entrepreneurs and businesses for self-employment. Chief Minister Chouhan said that entrepreneurs should get loans from financial institutions for self-employment and small scale industries easily. Chief Minister Chouhan urged the Finance Minister to issue instructions for banks to be more active in self-employment schemes.

Chief Minister Chouhan informed that under the structural reforms, the state government has implemented the provision of providing services in the Public Service Guarantee Act within a time-limit. There is a system of fine for taking more time than the prescribed time limit.
