Governor Patel presents gold medals to meritorious students at the convocation
Bhopal 18 December 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that students have an important role in nation building. It is the responsibility of the professors to inculcate service and values in students and try to make them ideal students and citizens. Governor Patel said that education play an important role in making ideal citizens. Science, technology, employment as well as moral values have been included in the new education policy. University should discharge social responsibilities along with education.
Governor Patel was addressing the first convocation of Pt. Shambhunath Shukla University at Shahdol. He said that the students studying in universities should follow the path of truth, follow dharma, get quality education and use their knowledge in study and research. Students should make their village, state and country proud, they must not do any such work which would bring bad name to their motherland. Governor Patel said that after the award of medals to meritorious students in the university, their social responsibility and their responsibility towards the nation has increased further. He said that I do not only hope but also believe that the students passing out from this university will earn money and use their knowledge in the interest of society.
Governor Patel said that the Sickle Cell disease in tribal areas is a challenge for everyone. He said that universities should play an important role in creating awareness about Sickle Cell disease and its control. He said that university professors should also participate in creating awareness about this disease. All universities should adopt 5 villages each and make people aware of Sickle Cell disease and make continuous efforts to prevent the disease.
This is a hereditary disease and everyone needs to work together to eradicate it. He said that the diagnosis of Sickle Cell should be done on a large scale, so that everyone is aware about the disease and its eradication can also be possible.
In-charge of Shahdol district and Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare (Independent Charge), Minister of State for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi Nomadic, Tribal Welfare, Panchayat and Rural Development, Ramkhelawan Patel said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has done everything for the tribal zone Shahdol division, in this the establishment of universities, medical colleges and engineering colleges is prominent. He said that citizens will have to make efforts at every level for an Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. Minister of State Patel also congratulated the students on getting gold medals in the convocation.
Vice Chancellor Sanchi University Professor Neerja Arun Gupta, Vice Chancellor Pt. Shambhunath Shukla University, Professor Dr. Mukesh Tiwari also addressed the convocation. In the first convocation ceremony of Pt. Shambhunath Shukla University, Governor Patel distributed medals to 30 meritorious students and degrees to 2222 students.
MLAs Jaisingh Maravi, Manisha Singh and Sharad Kol, public representatives, university professors and students were present on the occasion.

The country is paramount, every citizen should make best efforts in the development of the country, so that the image of Atmanirbhar Bharat, can shine all over the world. Governor Mangubhai Patel was interacting with the girls in the premises of Girls Hostel Shahdol. District In-charge Minister Ramkhelawan Patel, Additional Director General of Police Shahdol Zone D.C. Sagar, Chairman of Municipality Urmila Katare, Collector Smt. Vandana Vaidya and Superintendent of Police.Avdhesh Kumar Goswami were present.
Governor Patel asked the students to name the President, Prime Minister and the Father of the Nation, to which the students replied. Governor Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. He said that it was great to be here. Here 300 girls are getting education in 5 hostels together. With everyone’s cooperation, the country is moving on the path of progress. When Prime Minister Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he gave the slogan of ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’. He inaugurated the grand corridor of Baba Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, in which thousands of people can walk together.
