Bhopal 26 December 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel has called upon the educated community of the society to come forward for the use of herbal products. Give wide publicity in the society of the information regarding its benefits. Referring to the allopathic medicines, he said that in view of the serious long term side effects of pain killer medicines giving immediate relief their production has almost stopped at present. Governor Shri Patel was addressing the closing ceremony of International Herbal Fair Bhopal-2021 today. The five-day fair was organised under the aegis of Forest Department and State Minor Forest Produce Association from December 22 to 26 at Lal Parade Ground, Bhopal.

Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the world recognised the importance of Ayurveda during the biggest tragedy of the century the Covid pandemic. People have become familiar with the usefulness of Ayurveda herbs. Before Covid, how many people knew the herb Giloy. Ayurvedic doctors got it recognised all over the world. He said that efforts should be made for widespread public awareness regarding Ayurvedic herbs useful in treatment. In events like Van Mela, sessions should be organised on different days by expert Ayurveda practitioners to give information about herbs. By doing this the demand for herbal medicines will increase a lot.

Governor Shri Patel, while talking about the presence of a large number of congenital diseases of sickle cell in the tribal society, told the need for research of Ayurvedic medicines in the prevention and treatment of the disease. He appealed to Ayurvedic doctors and forest officials to go to Vananchal. Discover the drug for the treatment of sickle cell anemia. He believes that the treatment of diseases given by nature will also be found in the lap of nature. He said that efforts should also be made to create awareness in the tribal society for the prevention of disease. He told the need of public awareness efforts towards tree plantation. Governor Shri Patel mentioned his efforts to connect tree plantation with spirituality while being the Forest Minister in Gujarat.

Forest Minister Shri Kunwar Vijay Shah said that the State Government organised the Van Mela as a platform to eliminate the middlemen between the herbal and medicinal growers and the collectors. The role of intermediaries in the business of 13 crores has been abolished through buyer-seller conference in the fair. In addition to assisting in the authenticity of herbs, collectors and growers were provided with information about direct contact with the buyers. Kunwar Shah told that by purchasing a decoction worth Rs 30 crore produced by Vidhya Herbals, door-to-door distribution of the prevention medicine of Covid was done free of cost.
