Society and government should work together in eradicating sickle cell anaemia disease: Governor Patel

Bhopal 27 December 2021: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the society and the government should work together in the control of sickle cell anaemia disease. He has appealed to the educated section of the society to come forward to cooperate in eradicating this genetic disease prevalent in the tribal society. He requested the scholars of the conference to cooperate in the efforts for all round development of MP and eradication of sickle cell disease.
Governor Patel was addressing the 104th annual convention of the Indian Economic Conference organised by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management.

Governor Patel said that for the prevention of sickle cell anaemia disease, youth should be sensitized and cautioned about marital relations and pregnant women about screening and health check-up. He said that the universities of the state have been asked to do investigation and awareness work in 5 villages. Governor Patel has said that Covid has shaken the economy of the whole world. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the economy is rapidly heading towards becoming strong. The work of modernization and expansion of the basic infrastructure of development has been done at a fast pace. There has been a significant increase in the export of pharma medicines and electronic products. 33 startups from India have joined the unicorn club of over $1 billion in one year.

Executive Director for India at the International Monetary Fund, Professor Surjit S. Bhalla addressed the concluding session virtually. He presented factual details on participation, definition and methodology of women as labour force. Ramesh Chandra, member of NITI Aayog, president of the conference, said that the present government has worked on a plan to transform the economy of five trillion. Chaturvedi, Vice President, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, said that academic network is being prepared in the state in coordination with the institute and the university.
