Bhopal 31 December 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the state government is committed to protect the citizens of the state from Omicron, the new variant of Covid. The Chief Minister said that this variant has knocked not only in Madhya Pradesh but also in the country. The number of citizens infected with Omicron is coming to the fore in every state. In Madhya Pradesh also 77 cases have reported positive. Most of them are in Indore. We are making all the arrangements in time so that we are ready to deal with any situation. Along with this, it is also necessary that the general public stays alert by following all the guidelines. Precautions like use of face mask, mutual distance should be taken care of. Chief Minister Chouhan informed that at present about 60 thousand bed capacity is available in various government and private hospitals in the state. Instructions have also been given to keep the Covid Care Centres ready.
Chief Minister Chouhan after inspecting various wards of Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal today gave a message to the people of the state. He said that the Madhya Pradesh government is determined to stop the Omicron infection. Chief Minister Chouhan said that along with inspecting the biggest hospital of the capital, he himself is constantly reviewing for better health and treatment facilities in the entire state, this will continue even further.
Oxygen should be used as per requirement
Chief Minister Chouhan said that necessary arrangements have been made after assessing the requirement of oxygen. Usage of oxygen will also be audited so that it is not consumed unnecessarily. Together with the general public, Omicron will be tackled with full force.
Variant can change form, let us all stay alert
Chief Minister Chouhan said that instructions have been given to inspect the necessary arrangements in all the hospitals in the state. It has been told to make arrangements of adequate medicines. The infection status is being reviewed daily. Keeping in mind the possibility of the variant changing its form, necessary work is being done by taking stock of the increasing number of patients and the arrangements required for their treatment. We all have to remain alert.
Called on doctors and staff
Chief Minister Chouhan called upon all the doctors and paramedical staff of the state be ready to discharge their duty once again. This is the time of test, we all have to come together to bring the public out of the crisis safely.
Vaccination work has gained momentum
Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is dynamic in the work of vaccination. About 5.25 crore people of the state have received the first dose and about five crore people have received the second dose of the vaccine. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has ensured the safety of everyone's health by providing free vaccines to the countrymen. Now the work of vaccinating children from the age group of 15 to 18 years and citizens above 60 years of age suffering from diseases is starting. Vaccination centres will be run for children in the schools of the state. For this also the work of imparting necessary training to health workers has been done. Keeping an eye on the arrangements, we all have to be alert and active.

Facilities are increasing in Hamidia Hospital
Chief Minister Chouhan inspected the High Deficiency Unit in the new building of the hospital. This children's unit has a provision of 30 beds. He also inspected SNCU Paediatrics Ward and ICU Ward. Chief Minister Chouhan received information regarding the availability of common beds, oxygen beds, ICU beds, essential medical equipment and their proper functioning. Earlier, Chief Minister Chouhan also inspected the 35 metric tonne daily capacity oxygen plant built in the hospital premises.
Presently the facilities available in the hospital are continuously expanding. The project of a multi-storey hospital with a total capacity of 1498 beds includes the work of hospital building number one and two as well as hostel building, multi-storey parking, nursing college-cum-hostel building etc. 93 percent work has been completed in hospital building number-1. Some furniture work is yet to be done. All the work has been completed in the hospital building number-2. 90 percent of the external development works have also been completed.
