Bhopal 04 January 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Sharbati wheat is the identity of Madhya Pradesh. Efforts should be made to increase its area. Soil testing laboratories should be started on priority.

Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development Department in Mantralaya on Tuesday. Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and departmental officers were present.

Chief Minister Chouhan directed to do better work for the development of storage processing infrastructure. We are number one in the country in Custom Hiring Center. They should be operated properly.

Chief Minister Chouhan inquired about the departmental vision for the year 2022. He directed to promote diversification of crops, promote organic and natural farming and coarse grains, promote agricultural exports and use of modern technology in agriculture.

Chief Minister Chouhan told to engaged in mission mode for agriculture export. Work on creating a roadmap. Incidents of burning Narwai have been reduced in the state. Such incidents should be controlled totally.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that better work should be done under the ‘Ek Zila Ek Utpad’ scheme. Promote startups in the field of agriculture. Work to assess crop production and ascertain quality. There should be no shortage of manure in the state. Plan now itself for the next year as well. Promote demand based agriculture.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that natural farming should be promoted. Organic farming is necessary to save the country and the earth. Madhya Pradesh is number one in the country in organic farming and this needs to be maintained. The area under organic farming is 17.31 lakh hectare.
