Bhopal 05 January 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the world is witnessing the transition of Omicron, a new form of Corona. Infection is also increasing in Indian states. Although there is no need to panic, yet precautions need to be taken. As before, this time also we will deal with it, fight and win this infection unitedly. Masks should be compulsorily used in public places. Fines should be imposed for not using masks. At present, there are no restrictions other than night curfew in many states. There will be no new strict restrictions in Madhya Pradesh too, but it has been decided to limit the number of attendance on various occasions.

Chief Minister Chouhan sought information about the status of Covid-19 from various ministers, administrative officers and collectors of the state through video conference in Mantralaya today and issued necessary instructions after reviewing the arrangements. Chief Minister Chouhan took information about the arrangements made from the collectors of Jabalpur, Gwalior and Indore including Bhopal. Chief Minister Sri Chouhan said that proper arrangements should be made for isolation of infected patients the Covid Care Center. The officers in charge should be in touch with the districts. All precautions must be followed.

Chief Minister Chouhan directed that at least 60 thousand tests should be conducted in the state every day. There should be arrangement of beds in hospitals as per requirement. Necessary arrangements should also be made in Covid Care Centers. A capacity of one and a half lakh beds has been created in hospitals and Covid Care Centres. Treatment and other arrangements should be ensured as per the guidelines set by the Government of India. There is no need to be afraid of infection, but all precautions must be taken.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that in India, Maharashtra has the highest number of infections.

Being a neighboring state, maximum precautions should be taken in Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister called upon voluntary organizations, general public, public representatives and members of Crisis Management Committees to fight the infection together. Health Minister Dr. Prabhuram Choudhary, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang and Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains were also present. Public Works Minister Gopal Bhargava and Water Resources Minister Tulsi Silavat held a virtual discussion.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the arrangements for isolation at Motilal Nehru Stadium near Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal should remain the same like in the earlier Corona waves. This arrangement should be made as a precaution, even though the effect of the infection is less. Similarly, arrangements should be made to keep patients isolated in the stadium in Indore too. In view of the cold weather, arrangements should also be made for necessary quilts with the help of voluntary organizations. Due to the strong arrangements made in the big cities of the state, it will be easy to take care of the infected persons coming from the neighboring districts.
Jabalpur Collector informed that about five thousand tests are being conducted every day. So far 73 cases have come to the fore. Fever clinics have been started. A total of 32 government and private hospitals have been contacted and arrangements have been made. Chief Minister Chouhan directed to develop more bed capacity in Jabalpur.
Collector Gwalior informed that yesterday 58 cases have been reported. Six thousand beds are available. Contact tracing is also being done.

Arrangements have been made to give medical consultation to patients at their homes. A model has been developed in which the patient will get the benefits of treatment and care in one package. Crisis Management Committee meeting has also been held. Collector Indore said that in view of the infection, discussions have also been held with the doctors regarding fixing of medicines in the treatment. Collector Bhopal informed that Covid Care Center has been started in Pandit Khushilal Sharma Ayurvedic College. There is also a preparation to start a center of about one thousand bed capacity in Nehru Stadium. 24 cases have surfaced in Bhopal yesterday. Fever clinics are also functioning.
Presentation by Health Department
Additional Chief Secretary Mohammad Suleman gave a presentation in front of Chief Minister Chouhan. According to this, there are 515 cases in Madhya Pradesh. Nearly 42 thousand cases have come up in the country and 18 lakh cases in the world. About half of the total cases in the state are in Indore. So far 307 cases of infection have been reported in Bhopal, 101 in Gwalior, 71 in Jabalpur and 47 in Ujjain. Out of the total patients, about 8 percent patients have been isolated in the hospital. The remaining infected are isolated at home. Regarding utilization capacity of beds, it was told that only 0.67 percent of the beds are without oxygen, 0.19 percent of oxygen beds and 0.34 percent of ICU and HDU beds are being used. At present, about 50,000 bed capacity is available in the state. Chief Minister Chouhan also sought information about the global trend of infection. There is good progress of vaccination work in the state. Against the total target in the vaccination of adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18, starting from January 3, an average 30 percent achievement has been made in the state. The highest progress has been achieved in Chhatarpur, 57 percent, Indore 56 percent, Sehore 48 percent and 44 percent in Sagar and Harda. In Madhya Pradesh, 14 lakh 37 thousand 274 doses have been administered in the targeted adolescent category against the target of 48 lakh.

Major instructions of CM Chouhan
  • Covid Command and Control Center must be functional.
  • Big fairs should not be organized in the state.
  • Attendance at wedding functions etc. should be limited. Their limit will be 250.
  • Up to 50 people can attend funeral, uthavna etc.
  • The system of attendance of 50 percent students should be maintained in the schools.
  • Night curfew will continue in the state.
  • Home isolation must be efficiently supervised.
  • Voluntary organizations should provide sweaters, quilts etc. in the Covid Care Centers.
  • Proper maintenance of RTPCR test system must.
  • Give the benefit of treatment to people suffering from other diseases by admitting them to the hospital on priority.
  • Follow the Covid appropriate behavior at each level.
  • Treatment protocol should be as per GOI (Take medical treatment as per guidelines of Government of India).
  • It is possible that the number of infected patients will increase in the state, hence bed capacity must be increased as per requirement.
  • Build the Covid Command and Control Center up to the block level.
  • Corona test should not be less than 60 thousand per day, contact tracing must continue.
  • The work of vaccination of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years must continue.
  • The symptoms of infection are simple, yet the necessary steps will be taken as per need.
  • Arrangements for treatment and care of positive patients should be well maintained in all towns and villages.
  • Ensure all arrangements at Divisional Headquarters and Medical College level.
