Chief Minister visits fields of hail affected farmers

Bhopal 15 January 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the damage caused to crops due to hailstorm will be fully compensated. In case of more than 50 percent loss in crops, farmers will be given the benefit of crop insurance scheme along with compensation of Rs 30 thousand per hectare. 25 percent of the claim amount will be given in advance from the insurance company and the remaining 75 percent will be given on the finalization of the claim.  Chief Minister Chouhan also announced that the loan of the affected farmers would be changed from short to medium term and the amount of interest for one year would be paid by the state government.

Paste the survey list in the Gram Panchayat

Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the farmers after taking stock of the crops damaged by hailstorm in Unarsi Kalan village of Lateri tehsil of Vidisha district on Saturday. Chief Minister Chouhan visited the coriander, wheat, gram and mustard fields of the farmers and took stock of the damage caused to the crops by hail and consoled the farmers. Chief Minister Chouhan said that I am with the farmers in this hour of crisis, farmers should not worry, their loss will be fully compensated. The Chief Minister instructed the Collector that a transparent system should be adopted in the survey work of crops and the survey list should be pasted in the Gram Panchayat building. No farmer should be left out of the survey. The crops of the farmers who have objection should be surveyed again.

Wherever there is damage to the crops, assistance will be given

Chief Minister Chouhan said that wherever there has been damage due to hailstorm in the state, assistance will be given by conducting survey with full sensitivity. The Chief Minister also directed to provide assistance for damage to brick kilns, houses and cattle etc. as per rules. Chief Minister Chouhan assured the farmers that they should not panic, the government is with the farmers with utmost sensitivity and all possible help will be given to them and the benefits of the schemes will also be given to them. Chief Minister Chouhan said that crops have also been damaged in Aaron, Raghogarh and Chachoda of border district including Sironj. Damage to crops in these areas will also be compensated.

Construction of hospital in Unarsi Kalan announced

Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted with the farmers face-to-face. He said that Unarsi Kalan is a big village. A hospital will be constructed here, which will provide health facilities to the people of dozens of nearby villages.

CM hugs elderly farmer Phoolbai

Chief Minister Chouhan reached village Chhoti Raghogarh to take stock of the crop in the field of elderly farmer Smt. Phoolbai. Phoolbai’s eyes became moist while giving information about the damage caused to the gram crop due to hailstorm. Chief Minister Chouhan hugged Phoolbai and wiping away her tears said that no need to worry your brother will get you your full compensation for the loss. He directed the District Collector to provide immediate assistance of Rs 50,000 to Smt. Phoolbai.

It may be noted that in about 18 villages of Lateri Tehsil including Unarsi Kalan and Chhoti Raghogarh, more than 2 thousand hectares of gram, coriander, mustard and wheat crops of 1720 farmers have been damaged.
