Bhopal 24 January 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that he is happy to say that earlier there were 927 females for one thousand males in the state, but as a result of Ladli Laxmi Yojana, this ratio has now increased to 956 females per one thousand males. The government wants to equalize this number. The Chief Minister was addressing the ‘Sashakt Balika- Sashakt Samaj- Sashakt Madhya Pradesh’ programme organized at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium of Jiwaji University on the occasion of National Girl Child Day in Gwalior on Monday. Funds were distributed in the programme under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana and Ladli Laxmi Yojana with a single click. Certificates of Ladli Laxmi Yojna and women who have made remarkable achievements in the field of women empowerment were given Sashakt Nari Samman.

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia (Virtual), State Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture and Food Processing Bharat Singh Kushwaha, Former Minister and Small Industries Corporation President Imarti Devi, District President BJP (City) Kamal Makhijani, District President BJP (Rural) Kaushal Sharma, District Panchayat Administrative Committee President Smt. Manisha Yadav, Safai Doot Smt. Saraswati and women and girls in a large number were present in the programme.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that National Girl Child Day is celebrated on January 24, whereas every day, every moment belongs to them. The government has made all efforts to get them a proper position. He said that sons and daughters are equal. Women are not only meant to work, they also have the right to live. He said that until the son and daughter are not considered equal, people will continue to stop the birth of girl child.

The Chief Minister said that for the empowerment of women and girls, the state government has made books, cycles, available for them, besides the Gaon ki Beti Yojana, Rs 5 thousand for college studies and Kanya Vivah Yojna when she becomes eligible for marriage. Under the Sambal Yojana, pregnant women are given Rs.4000 before delivery and Rs.12 thousand post delivery. Therefore, from the birth of the daughter till her marriage, many schemes are being run by the government. He informed that at present there are 41 lakh Ladli Laxmi in the state, as a result of which there has been a change in the attitude of the parents. Now people do not discriminate between a son and daughter.

Chief Minister Chouhan assured that he would leave no stone unturned in the education of daughters. He said that Anganwadi and ASHA workers have done a good job during the Corona period. In future also women will not lag behind men in any work. He said that people have to change their thinking towards women. Now women should not be the victim of domestic violence and the male domination also needs to be changed. The Chief Minister said that women are also being empowered financially. 33 lakh women are connected to self-help groups. Similarly, 50 percent reservation in the education department and 30 percent in the police department has been given to girls. That’s why daughters are progressing in every field.

Congratulating the state, Union Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar said that it is a matter of good fortune that Gwalior has been chosen to celebrate the state level National Girl Child Day. They know very well about the sensitivity of the Chief Minister. The government has made arrangements to ensure that the poor man’s daughter gets married. The government has also taken the responsibility of getting them educated and married when they grow up. He said that lakhs of daughters are contributing to the progress of the country.

Other states have followed the women empowerment schemes of Madhya Pradesh. The government wishes that girls must progress in every field. The Prime Minister wants to establish the country as Atmanirbhar Bharat in which girls are actively taking part. Daughters have brought laurels to the state and the country in every field. He said that the daughter is revered. The time to come belongs to India. Girls progress progressively and give heights to India.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who took part virtually in the programme, said that Nari is Narayani. He said that if interference in the work of women is stopped they will become empowered. Inequalities in safety and health are major barriers to women’s progress. If these inequalities are removed then women are no less than anyone. Daughters are Ladli Lakshmis not only for the country but for the whole world. From home to the space, daughters have not lagged behind men. In the field of sports, out of total 15 international medals, 7 medals have been won by girls. A girl from Gwalior is officiating cricket in Oman.

Scindia said that the women empowerment schemes of Madhya Pradesh are an example for the country. 40 lakh women have been benefited in various schemes in Madhya Pradesh. He wished everyone a Happy Girl's Day. Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture Bharat Singh Kushwaha also expressed their views in the programme.

Chief Minister distribute benefits

Chief Minister Chouhan transferred an amount of Rs one crore 70 lakh to the accounts of 10 thousand beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana with a single click of scholarship. Similarly, Rs 22 lakh was transferred to 550 girls under Ladli Laxmi Yojana.
