Bhopal 28 January 2022: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is not just a campaign to build houses, but it is a campaign to change the lives of the poor. This is a wonderful programme, the fair for the welfare of the poor is going on. Everyone has the right to live a better life and smile. I too will not rest until your life changes. Chief Minister Chouhan while thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of the state said that every family of the state would be provided a pucca roof. This government’s top priority is those who are the poorest and at the bottom. We are with these brothers and sisters till the houses are built. It is our endeavour that their house should be built within the given time limit. Chief Minister Chouhan appealed to all the public representatives including all the MPs and ministerial colleagues that whenever they go on a tour in rural areas, they must necessarily obtain physical information about the housing scheme.

Chief Minister Chouhan was transferring the first installment amount of Rs.875 crore to the accounts of three lakh 50 thousand beneficiaries for the new houses sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) with a single click. Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted virtually with various beneficiaries and gave housing approval letters to five beneficiaries as a symbol.

The programme started with Madhya Pradesh Anthem at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre. Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Water Resources Minister Tulsi Silawat, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia and Principal Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Umakant Umrao were present. Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development, Ramkhelawan Patel attended virtually from Satna. All the districts virtually participated in the programme.

Corruption and delay in government schemes will not be tolerated

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the installment money released under the scheme is for the house. Therefore, the beneficiary should invest this money only in the house. Sarpanch, Sachiv, Rozgar Sahayak should ensure that the work of housing construction is completed within the time limit. Supervision and monitoring of schemes should be ensured in an effective manner. The beneficiaries should not face any inconvenience in getting the construction material. The state government has so far provided housing to 35 lakh people. The dream of the house of the families who have been left now will also be fulfilled soon. Corruption and dilly dallying in the implementation of government schemes will not be tolerated.

Building materials should be available at reasonable rates

Chief Minister Chouhan said in a dialogue with the beneficiaries that in the implementation of the scheme it should be ensured that the beneficiaries face no delay in receiving the installments. The officials should also ensure that the construction materials are available to the beneficiaries at reasonable rates. Strict action will be taken on receipt of complaints of corruption in the implementation of the scheme.

Each beneficiary should know when and how much installment will be received

Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted virtually with the beneficiaries regarding the change in their lives through the houses approved under the scheme. In a conversation with Sumrati Bai Parte of Mandla district, Chief Minister Chouhan said that the beneficiaries should know how many installments they will get and when they will get these installments. Chief Minister Chouhan directed the departmental officers that necessary arrangements should be made to make this information available to the beneficiaries.

Building a house in fifty days is like a miracle

Murli Rajak of Sidhi district told Chief Minister Chouhan in a discussion that he had completed the construction of the house in 50 days. Chief Minister Chouhan said that building a house in such a short time is like a miracle. Murli Rajak should be honoured at Panchayat level for this achievement.

Chief Minister Chouhan appreciated the courage of Munni Bai

Appreciating the courage of the Divyang woman Munni Bai of Chhatarpur, Chief Minister Chouhan said that she is a source of inspiration for many people. She did not lose courage even after having one hand chopped off and she is continuously contributing for the betterment of her life and that of her family. Chief Minister Chouhan while handing over the responsibility for the treatment of Smt. Munni Bai to the Collector Chhatarpur said that the State Government will bear the entire cost of her treatment.

Birthday of every village, town, city should be celebrated

Chief Minister Chouhan said that all of us should celebrate the birthday of our village, town and city on one day in a year in the same way as we celebrate our birthday. All the people born in the village should gather on the birthday and decide the roadmap for the development of their native land. Chief Minister Chouhan said that we will celebrate the birthday of our home village Jait on Narmada Jayanti. Appealing to the people to adopt Anganwadis, Chief Minister Chouhan said that those who are financially capable can play an important role in nurturing children by adopting Anganwadi. Chief Minister Chouhan informed that he has also adopted two Anganwadis.

Two lakh jobs per month

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the State Government had earlier decided that one lakh self-employment opportunities would be created every month. Now this target has been increased to 2 lakh per month. We will help fulfill the dream of becoming an entrepreneur by providing loans to the youth from the banks.

Income of every sister should be at least 10 thousand rupees per month

Chief Minister Chouhan said that we have not only built houses in the state. Every possible effort is being made to change the lives of the people of the state through public distribution system, electricity, schools, employment, tap water in every household, gas connection, Ayushman card, various pension schemes. Various activities are being conducted to increase income at village level by empowering self-help groups. Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is the endeavour of the State Government that the income of every sister should be at least Rs. 10,000 per month. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the State Government is also considering an action plan to increase their income by providing necessary training to the persons engaged in various professions at the village level.

Plantation is necessary to make the earth livable

Chief Minister Chouhan appealed to all the people involved in the programme to plant saplings. Chief Minister Chouhan said that if there are trees then there is life on earth, contribute in making the earth green and thriving. By planting trees, we are working to make the earth habitable for the next generation.

Approval letter given to the manufacturing unit for making bricks from fly ash

Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted with Ter Singh Kalu of Jhabua, Pushpa Dongre of Balaghat, Deepa Bai of Rajgarh, Nirasha Bai of Katni and Punni of Sagar. Chief Minister Chouhan said in the dialogue that if construction materials are purchased together for the houses to be built in a village, it will bring down the cost of construction material and it will be possible to reduce the cost of construction of houses. In this regard, talks will also be held with the construction material manufacturing companies.
Chief Minister Chouhan distributed housing approval letters to Tej Kunwar and Bansilal of Gram Panchayat Kharpa in Sehore district and Chander Gopal of Gram Panchayat Sankhedi. Chief Minister Chouhan handed over the approval letter of brick manufacturing unit from fly ash to Durga Kangale, president of Jamna Aajeevika Self-Help Group of Bhikund Gram Panchayat of Bhainsdehi development block of Betul district.
