Bhopal 29 January 2022; Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that there is no greater work of merit for me than the purification of Kshipra river in the holy city Ujjain. An action plan will be prepared to stop the polluted water of Khan river from getting mixed in Kshipra. The purification of Kshipra will gain momentum after scientific tests are conducted. He said that the survey would be conducted with full respect to the suggestions and sentiments of the saints. Chief Minister Chouhan was holding talks with a delegation of seers and saints of Ujjain at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday. Chief Minister Chouhan honored the seers and saints by presenting shawls, shriphal and garlands flower. Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was also present.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that while fully respecting the sentiments of the sages and saints, all of us together will try to purify the Kshipra river. He said that the options would be discussed after the survey. Efforts will also be made for the protection of Sapta sagar in Ujjain. No one will be allowed to take possession of the Sapta sagar.
Mahant Dr. Rameshwar Das told Chief Minister Chouhan that the polluted water released from Indore merges in Kshipra through Khan river. Due to this the water of Kshipra gets polluted. He said that the river Kshipra gives salvation. To save Kshipra from pollution, he demanded to build a 13 km long open canal from Triveni to Kaliadeh-Mahal. He said that adequate funds have been provided for the development of 147 places in Ujjain. For this he thanked Chief Minister Chouhan.
