Bhopal 31 January 2022: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the Home Guard jawans, who save the lives of others by risking their lives, help people like angels. In times of calamity the homeguard actually takes the form of God on earth. Governor Patel said these things while inaugurating Shilp Upvan at Home Guard Headquarters on Monday. He lauded the Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra for helping the flood victims by risking his life last year.
Presiding over the programme, Home Minister Dr. Mishra said that ‘Who says that God is not visible, he is visible only in times of disaster.’ Home Guard jawans help people in distress like God. Director General Home Guard and Disaster Management Pawan Jain said that our jawans are ready to lay down their lives to protect the lives of others. Director General of Police Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Rajesh Rajoura and other senior police officers are present.
Governor Patel said that when there is coordination of heart, mind and hands, then craftsmen create exquisite crafts. You can become a good craftsman only by maintaining concentration. Governor Patel said that the performance of jawans in the Shilp Upvan, who performed their duty without fear, without backing down in the disaster, is commendable. He congratulated the craftsmen for putting life into stones. Governor Patel said that the management, relief and rescue work related to natural disaster, pandemic, peace and security is very challenging. It is a matter of happiness that the Home Guard jawans are discharging their duty well. Governor Patel said that practice is necessary for achieving continuous efficiency. For this training and skill upgradation should also be organized from time to time. He also stressed the need to share the experiences of disaster management.
Governor Patel said that our Home Minister is such, that he put his life to peril to save flood victims in Datia and adjoining areas last year. Home Minister Dr. Mishra was always ready to help the people trapped in the floods, regardless of his own life.
Home Guard jawans have the courage of a lion- Dr. Mishra
Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said that life is won with courage. Home Guard jawans have the courage of a lion. There is no lack of courage. When they are present at the time of disaster, there is a strong belief in the public that every crisis, be it flood, fire, any accident, will be rescued by the Home Guard personnel. He said that the Home Guard jawans have saved as many lives in one year which equals to their own number. Minister Dr. Mishra expressed gratitude to Governor Patel on behalf of the Home Guard family.
Home Guard jawans always ready in times of crisis – Jain
Director General Home Guard Pawan Jain said that our jawans are ready to protect the life and property of people in every kind of crisis. The jawans are like birds, who make their presence felt across the sky. He said that the Home Guard jawans did a wonderful job of saving lives in Chhatarpur after 12 hours of continuous rescue operation on December 16, 2021. In Bhopal itself, they saved the lives of a 5-member family by taking them out of the water tank thrice. Our jawans are talented. An important role has been played by them in preparing the Shilp Upvan.
Craftsmen blow life into stone statues
In the Shilp Upvan, the top craftsmen of the country carved stones in the Home Guard line and crafted them. The best live crafts of Vigna Vinashak Ganesha, Kamdhenu, Shabd Brahma, driving bird, Shiva Shakti, Prakriti and meteorite like stones have been established in the Shilp Upvan of the Home Guard Headquarters. These panoramic crafts made in stone give a great feeling of the relationship between God, nature and man.
Four divisions get multi utility vehicles
The keys of multi utility vehicles were handed over to the 4 divisions of the state in the dedication ceremony of the Shilp Upvan. Divisional Commandant Gwalior Manish Singh Chouhan, Rohitash Pathak of Jabalpur, Bhopal’s Sushri Usha Damor and Ujjain’s Smt. Preeti Bala Singh received the keys.
Districts get tablets
To make the work of disaster management technically advanced, tablets were provided to all the districts. Tablets were given symbolically to officers of 10 districts Bhopal, Indore, Damoh, Gwalior, Sheopur, Hoshangabad, Shajapur, Satna, Umaria and Katni in the programme.
Photo exhibition and equipments reviewed
Governor Patel and Home Minister Dr. Mishra visited a photo exhibition focusing on the excellent work done by Home Guard and SDERF personnel in times of disaster and also visited the modern disaster management tools in use in times of crisis at the Homeguard headquarters – Window to News
